Anyone who has ever suffered at the hands of an older brother or sister, or even worse, been sandwiched in between older and younger siblings, will thoroughly enjoy this cartoon novel delivered in the guise of the journal of the beleaguered, under-appreciated and very funny Gregory. This book makes an especially excellent reading suggestion for reluctant boy readers. The third in the series is forthcoming!

Ok, so I read this book to see why my students seem to love it so.

Now, I'm all for silly humor. I can understand that, but I don't get the attraction for this book. I hated it. I finished it in a little over a day, but never did I stop wishing for it to end. I think the characters were horrible; the people in the book did mean things to each other; every person in the book was inconsiderate to each other; etc. I really could go on! I know I'm going to hurt some feelings next week wh...more

Rodrick Rules was just as funny and descriptive as the other. In this book, Greg has disturbing conflicts with his brother that enrages Greg. As Greg states his *moments* with Rodrick, he discovers Rodrick has been rather mean too him. I can't wait to read the third book!

When last we saw our hero Greg Heffley he had survived everything from cursed cheese to an unfortunate stage debut. Not that much has changed in his life, of course. He’s still a perpetual victim of his older brother Rodrick’s crazy schemes and his younger brother Manny’s three-year-old excesses. Greg might have to do what Rodrick says for a while too since his older brother knows something terrible, HORRIBLE even, that happened to Greg over the summer and he's threatening to tell...more

Greg Heffley is back for a second volume. Things haven't changed much for him--he still thinks he's cooler than his best friend Rowley, his parents are still nerdily out of touch, and Greg is still running for the coveted Class Clown title. Unfortunately, that's not all that hasn't changed over the summer--younger brother Manny is still a tattletale, older brother Rodrick is still a bully, and Greg still has the Cheese Touch. Only now Manny is spilling secrets from ages ago, Rodrick has a new...more

The sequel to Kinney’s #1 Bestseller, Rodrick Rules follows wimpy middle school student Greg Heffley in his second year of middle school. And where the first book focused more on Greg and his friendship with Rowley and his trying to fit in and be popular, the sequel focuses more on his relationship with his older brother Rodrick – a lazy high school student with ambitions of being in a heavy metal rock band. Throughout the book, Rodrick is a nasty big brother who doesn’t treat Greg very we...more

This book is about how Greg and his brother Roderick. How they try to get their little brother Manny in trouble, because all he does his get them in to trouble an example is that he put cookie crumbs in the TV and blamed it on Greg. I was trying to articulate in my mind what it is I enjoy about these books. Is it because my son loves them? Is it the stick figure drawings? Is it the artful ability to make a "diary" not entirely un-cool for boys?
All these things are true and yet non warranted a "4 star" response in my mind then I realized two things
#1. I really, really love these book's unapologetic look at a kids world. Greg(the main character) does lots of stupid and even unwittingly mean t...more

Diary of a Wimpy kid: Rodrick Rules is the sequel to Diary of a Wimpy Kid and the second in the series. As I shared in my review of Diary of a Wimpy Kid, that this is one of my son's favorite book series. My son AJ who is 10, was so happy that I read the first book and when I finished it, he lined up book 2 and 3 in the series on my nightstand. What mother could say no to that?!

This book picks up after summer vacation when school starts for Gregory. He continues writing in his diary ...more

This is the second book from the latest popular "teen" series called "Diary of a Wimpy Kid". This series has been haunting me for a while (not to mentioned it has been in my wishlist since it was in the top ten books list) and I jumped at the opportunity when I saw it on sale at Best Eastern, Gadong; to get a copy of it. True to its series name, what I stumbled through the pages of this book is written in a diary form. Every chapter is a day to day entry by Greg Heffley, who ...more

This book is the witty sequel to the original. As always it starts off with Greg Heffley, who is a boy starting his first day of the seventh grade. His summer wasn't really so great. With his brother Rodrick around, what times would be great? But Rodrick knows about the devastating thing that happened last year. And Greg is the person to stop him before he spills it!

I can connect to how Greg is feeling in the book. I know how it feels to have something held over my head and being for...more

Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules was written by Jeff Kinney. This story was generally about how Gregory's brother Rodrick annoyed Gregory and exaggerately ruined his life. He threatened to tell his secret that happened over the summer and he did. Fortunately, everything turned out fairly okay. The secret was inaccurately stated because the rumor spread and soceity didn't listen or comprehend. Here's the secret: Gregory was hiding away from his brother because he was about to steal his "d...more

Goodreads Review 1

Diary of a Wimpy Kid 2: Rodrick Rules is about a middle school boy who faces lots of the same problems middle schoolers do today. Greg Heffley faces bullies at school, wild teachers, pretty girls, and worst of all, his older brother Rodrick. The problems Greg faces are mostly with people at home or at school therefore, the conflict is external. The main characters in this book are Greg, Rodrick, Manny, and Greg’s parents. Rodrick is Gre...more

In the book a dairy of a wimpy kid Rodrick rules. Is a good book one thing I like about it is that it is like a real diary and he express all of his felling and he write what he felling. Another is that he funny and cools him always getting pick on by his brother and he is the odd brother and kid in the family. The last thing I like about the diary of a wimpy kid is the little brother will he always get what he wants.
In the book diary of a wimpy ...more
