Anyone who has ever suffered at the hands of an older brother or sister, or even worse, been sandwiched in between older and younger siblings, will thoroughly enjoy this cartoon novel delivered in the guise of the journal of the beleaguered, under-appreciated and very funny Gregory. This book makes an especially excellent reading suggestion for reluctant boy readers. The third in the series is forthcoming!

Ok, so I read this book to see why my students seem to love it so.

Now, I'm all for silly humor. I can understand that, but I don't get the attraction for this book. I hated it. I finished it in a little over a day, but never did I stop wishing for it to end. I think the characters were horrible; the people in the book did mean things to each other; every person in the book was inconsiderate to each other; etc. I really could go on! I know I'm going to hurt some feelings next week wh More...

Rodrick Rules was just as funny and descriptive as the other. In this book, Greg has disturbing conflicts with his brother that enrages Greg. As Greg states his *moments* with Rodrick, he discovers Rodrick has been rather mean too him. I can't wait to read the third book!

When last we saw our hero Greg Heffley he had survived everything from cursed cheese to an unfortunate stage debut. Not that much has changed in his life, of course. He’s still a perpetual victim of his older brother Rodrick’s crazy schemes and his younger brother Manny’s three-year-old excesses. Greg might have to do what Rodrick says for a while too since his older brother knows something terrible, HORRIBLE even, that happened to Greg over the summer and he's threatening to tell the w More...

RODRICK RULES - the sequel to the New York Times bestseller DIARY OF A WIMPY KID - is another enjoyable read. It shows how a self-centered and funny middle-schooler deals with his own problems, most of which are his own makings. Greg here, do not take any responsibility or understand other's problems other than his own. The kid is not a perfect kid, as everyone of us, but his ways and approach to a problem are..what to say..kid-like. :-) Most of the us have our own Greg moments. I will say More...

Greg Heffley is back for a second volume. Things haven't changed much for him--he still thinks he's cooler than his best friend Rowley, his parents are still nerdily out of touch, and Greg is still running for the coveted Class Clown title. Unfortunately, that's not all that hasn't changed over the summer--younger brother Manny is still a tattletale, older brother Rodrick is still a bully, and Greg still has the Cheese Touch. Only now Manny is spilling secrets from ages ago, Rodrick has a new More...

I think I liked this one better than the first one? Greg Heffley is still a jerk, but I definitely couldn't help literally laughing out loud at a lot of the jokes.

The sequel to Kinney’s #1 Bestseller, Rodrick Rules follows wimpy middle school student Greg Heffley in his second year of middle school. And where the first book focused more on Greg and his friendship with Rowley and his trying to fit in and be popular, the sequel focuses more on his relationship with his older brother Rodrick – a lazy high school student with ambitions of being in a heavy metal rock band. Throughout the book, Rodrick is a nasty big brother who doesn’t treat Greg very well – w More...

Gregory is a boy in 7th grade and he hates it. He has 2 brothers Rodrick and Manny, Rodrick is his worst enemy. Rodrick is the worst brother ever to Greg. If only Greg was an only child.

Rodrick is the worst brother ever to Greg. Rodrick and Greg's mom say that she had enough of this and that they need to show each other love. She said that they would use this thing called Mom bucks, where they spend time with each other and earn money for how much time they spend with each other.

Actually this book is, like, written for me! I have this annoying big sister and a irritating small baby sister just like Gregory and everything written in this book is like my family life situation. Me and my big sister fighting, my small sis destroying my stuffs, mom and dad like, "awwn, shes a just a baby." And my mood like "I AM GONNA KILL HER!" etc, etc.

Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules was no dought a very fun book to read,it is probably one of the most fun book i've ever read. What I mean by that is no matter how old you are you will get a kick out of reading this book. One of the good things about this book is that I could actually relate to some of what the narrator goes through in his life. For example the relationship between him and his brother I can compare their relationship to that of me and my big brother, and me and my little brot More...

I gave Kinney four stars for this one because though I really enjoyed the "little kid just trying to make it through life" aspect of the book, there was pretty much zero character improvement (or even character devolvement). Gregory in particular seems completely unchanged by the many experiences he faces; he remains a self-centered, self-pleasing, Rodrick-hating, Manny-fearing, friend-abusing class clown wannabe.

The story is hilarious, and there are plenty of laugh out loud mome More...

This second installment of the series builds nicely on the first, and kept my interest just about as much as the first, and was just as quick a read. It gets a little deeper than the first book (as far as the writing style and format allows) with the characters and their relationships, this time especially regarding the main character Greg and his older brother Rodrick. The previous book covered an entire school year while this one covers just a few months, so the reader gets a little more de More...
