4.5 stars I'm in love, I'm in love, and I don't care who knows it! Uraban fantasy? Yes! Gay love story? Yes! Angst and Action? Yes and Yes!

A thoroughly enjoyable read, I don't have many specifics to comment on. I liked that Nathan wasn't perfect, and if anything Jim is the 'better' brother. More even-tempered, more empathetic. But that's why it works! And Sasha... oh Sasha. Love. Him.

They did a good job of wrapping up one story line but leaving an overarching plot, that I'm sure will carry throu

This is a definite must-read! Incubus is a beautifully crafted story rich in detail. Amanda Meuwissen has created a world that draws from the classic fae myths of the Irish heritage and yet has tweaked the famous creatures from mythology to develop her own unique world of fairies, incubi, and other creatures. This story is an intoxicating mix of mythology, religious tidbits, and the down-to-earth struggles of Nathan, his brother, and an enticing temptation that changes who he is and what he ...more

Where to begin on this review...... okay first I have to start by saying that this is a M/M book and if it is not your forte please do not read this review!

With that being said I have to say that I absolutely loved this book and I can't wait for book two. In Incubus we get to meet Nathan and Jim Grier. They are twins with a twist see because Nathan is human and Jim is a changeling. As his powers come on stronger he is in danger and Nathan is willing to do anything to save his brother from any ha

This blew me away. This is exactly the kind of book I hope for when I grab a paranormal romance by an author unknown to me. It was an adventure from the very first page all the way to the end. Action packed, it managed to describe everything making it easy for the reader to picture but didn't bog down with descriptions. The relationships were so believable, especially between the brothers. It was easy to imagine their scared and lonely childhood together. I liked Sasha and wanted Nathan to get ...more

WOW! This book totally rocked me. It was so good.

I really thought I was going to love it form the bio, but you never know. This was a requested review from the author and I was excited to get the chance to read it. BOY was I the one who made out in this situation as I got the Chance to read this EPIC book! Incubus books are some of my favorites, its something about them that I just Love. This one was definitely a stay from the norm but in a great way. Heads up, it is a gay romance, but a really
I tried the sample (which is a generous length). It reads like Supernatural fanfic. It's written in 'episode' form and another review on Amazon discusses the serialised nature of the books which is apparently a deliberate goal of the author/publisher. The writing is good enough but I'm not going to read further. Supernatural is my least favourite fandom and I don't enjoy serialised fiction. Here is the amazon review which I thought was pretty accurate:

I got this book when it was free at Amazon. I wasn't sure at first because I'm not big fan of m/m fantasy/paranormal (with the exception being shifters), but once I started reading I was hooked! This was definitely not anything like I expected but way better. I couldn't put the book down til I finished. I just hope we get more of this series in published form soon.

I downloaded this book a couple of days ago when it was free on amazon. I thought the blurb sounded good and that I could use it for my shelf-a-thon challenge so I started to read and I really liked it. There were so many things going on that you sort of just fell into the story and wanted to know what would happen. I really disliked Nate in the beginning I thought he was soo prejudiced but then he sort of just changed. I'm looking forward to the next book because there are still to many things ...more

I absolutely couldn't put this book down once I started reading it. Although it takes a few chapters to find its feet, the author has managed to create believable characters that I empathised with, and I absolutely loved the dynamics between the trio; and Walter was a great addition to the team, too.
I love the relationship that gradually grows between Nathan and Sasha, and it's great to see how Nathan confronts his own prejudices to accept Sasha, and how he fights every time for the benefit of h

This is a great book. It's a book I find myself rereading again and again because the characters and story are that compelling. Great read for anyone looking for an amazing mix of mythology and modern sass.
Great story. Reminiscent of Supernatural to a degree, yet different enough to not be a copy. Love Nathan/Sasha together. Can't wait to read book 2.

Ms. Meuwissen has created a colorful yet dark world where there's a constant battle waging amongst the dark and light Fae for the soul of Jim Grier, whose birth and growing powers promises to unleash evil on all of humanity. Nathan Grier sees him as only his brother, not the dangerous changeling others see him as, and will do anything to keep him from going completely dark. Recently Nathan had to wager his soul in an effort to bring Jim home after he was kidnapped by the dark Fae who want to ...more

First thing I have to say is that I absolutely LOVE this book....

Second thing I have to say is that this is my first review which will be short and sweet because I personally have nothing bad to say about it except I wish there were 10 more books to come. Sadly there is not...

I never review or comment on books or basically anything unless I really feel the need to. This book made me want to take the time to write a review.
It is everything I personally love jammed into 372 pages.

This was one of those books that just called to me and seemed like something I would love, and I’m so glad I trusted my instincts because they were so right! I devoured this first book, then immediately devoured the next one, then waited an agonizing five months for the third one and re-read them all back to back, not wanting to miss a single detail.

The best thing about these books was the emotion. Every single scene, every single word, had more emotion behind it than I even t
My Name Is Legion, For We Are Many

This is the first ever "gay paranormal romance" novel that I have had the pleasure to read. Truthfully, I wasn't even aware that the genre existed. Having given up on the the genre years ago, due to finding myself more depressed than fulfilled from the wonderful happy endings the "straight" characters received, I am pleased to find out I can enjoy them once again.

Despite the unlikelihood of a (up to this point) straight man suddenly discovering feelings for another man this story is

I have always been a gay/lesbian rights supporter, and have had several gay friends, all of whom I adore--not because they're gay, but because they're wonderful people. I have to admit, however, that I would still cringe a little when I would see a same-sex couple expressing affection toward each other, and a gay sex scene on TV or in a movie would make me turn the channel. I admit it. Amanda Meuwissen's story about two brothers, one human, one not so much, spending their lives on the run from a ...more

It’s wonderful what you can find when you take a chance on something you’d never normally read. This book for instance. I never thought I’d find myself reading a supernatural romance, especially not a gay romance, but to define it by just that, I think, would be wrong. It’s one of those stories that is so many things, that I would find it hard to classify it as one in particular. From Nathan’s fight to understand and survive his unexpected situation with his incubus companion, to his sibling rel

A Joyfully Jay review.

4.5 stars

This is a really bare bones summary, but anything more would be giving too much away. The world building here is really outstanding. Anyone who is familiar with fae myths and legends will recognize some of the aspects, but the author puts her own twist on things as well. It’s well developed and the author does a good job about not overwhelming us with information, but also providing what we need to know. It never felt like an info dump. I really liked that aspect.

I devoured this book and enjoyed every minute of it. The romance blossomed in believable ways and I enjoyed the pace of its development. There isn't a boring moment in this story, it really drags you along for the ride with its passionate, tumultious romance. The chemistry was tangible and the erotic pay off was well-written. It pulls some hard punches, too, and character's really have to work hard to earn happiness.

My only bug-bear is the character of Walter. As far as I can tell...he's superf

Incubus (The Incubus Saga, #1) by Amanda Meuwissen

A gripping tail, for which I am looking forward to future installments. I was a little concerned if I would enjoy the book because of the romance between two of the main male characters, as it isn't usually something that would interest me. But the book is well written, and I found myself getting absorbed by the story and thinking about it when I wasn’t reading - a sign of a fantastic book. The author was able to portray the romantic side of the story very well, and I quickly got caught up in i

Well I didn't think I was going to enjoy reading this as it is a M/M and the once I read so far I really didn't like much but this book well it rocked my world lol. I loved it, the characters were well written and you really got sucked into the book rooting for them all. There is so much more in the book than mets the eye and it wasn't distasteful. This book is definitely an awesome and fun read. It gets right into things and doesn't slow down for a second. The plot is fun and there are definitely more than a few twists along the way that even I didn't anticipate (and I'm pretty good at anticipating plot twists, if I do say so myself) and I loved every single one of them. They made sense to the story and added more to it, nothing seemed purely done just for shock value. Everything flowed well and easily, and the slow-build romance was ...more

Incubus (The Incubus Saga, #1)

Holy cow. I’m going to go into this too much because I don’t want to give stuff away. Just let me say holy cow. I’m a fan of scifi and fantasy for a reason: the world building. Let me tell you now the world building is exceptional. Then throw in fae myths and legends, and I’m good to go. Oh, don’t forget twists and turns!

Too many times, stories in the genre can turn into info dumps, but thank God that didn’t happen. Nathan and Jim Grier f

This book reminded me of the show Supernatural but with a gay twist. In a very good way.

I absolutely loved this story. It was well written, the characters were fleshed nicely and the writing was clear.
The characters were easy to become attached to. I felt like I was a part of their little group and I understood how Walter felt- Not being able to touch and help out they way that was needed!
Even though the story started in the middle of it all it was easy to understand and follow what was going

A complex tale with intriguing characters, I started this book a little unsure as it's not my normal fare. Balancing dual worlds that few know exist and even fewer can travel this story will keep you turning pages as the brothers struggle to save themselves and understand their own evolving identities.

Considering my list of interests, it might sound strange, but I've never watched an entire episode of Supernatural in my life, nor I consider myself an avid fanfic reader. So it isn't a surprise that everything on this was completely new to me. And I LOVED it. (view spoiler)

A good read. This is an action/adventure that features a budding romance. Incubi are a favourite of mine, and I enjoyed how the author portrayed them. It's a long book, but well worth the read. The other two books in the series, CHANGELING and SIDHE, are equally good and build on top of one another for an awesome epic adventure. The romance between Sasha and Nathan is sweet to watch, and the devotion Nathan has to his changeling brother, Jim, is inspiring. The entire series in an emotional ...more

Well as all the reviews below will also let you know, it's a M/M book so if you're not into that kind of thing then just don't read it.

So if you love the supernatural, not so everyday people struggling for love and family, then I more then recommend this book. It's an convulsive page turner and will have you on the edge of you're
