This book was written as an introduction to East German Cinema for college students. Besides giving a brief history of film production in the DDR, the book provides introductions for in-depth discussion of 14 East German films.

What I liked about the book was that it not only covered the 'usual suspects' of "Murderers Are Among Us," "The Rabbit is Me," "The Legend of Paul and Paula" and "Solo Sunny," but it also touched on the different genres of East German film, including science fiction, musi
