A Christmas To Remember

Ski-lodge manager Elisabeth is the quiet Donnelly twin - sedate, mature, responsible. It wasn't like her to fall in love with ski patroller Justin Cade, famous for his killer smile, blue eyes and way with women. But it was just like him to dump her when things began to get serious.

Now he's suddenly back in her life, and the timing couldn't be worse.

I got a free copy of this book through Netgalley in exchange of an honest review.

I do love myself some second chance romance once in a while. I love getting the stories behind the failure of the first and the magic moments that bring the two people together. Of course it's all even more better when it happens to be a Christmas story to top it off.

Elizabeth had a lot happen to her. After dating Justin Cade, despite knowing that behind that killer smile and his boyish charm the man had a problem
Elisabeth has had a rough year. The man she had been dating, and fallen in love with, dumped her when she got too serious for him. Then her best friend died from cancer, leaving Elisabeth to raise her daughter. Just as she's making plans to marry a nice, stable man Justin slides back into her life, making her wonder if she's made a mistake. I liked Elisabeth. Even though she knew that Justin had commitment issues, she had been willing to take a chance. After getting her heart broken, she's ready ...more

My Review: Second Chance Christmas

Second Chance Christmas is tender, charming, sad, hot, cute kid, funny Christmas romance. At times it is predictable, Their are a few love scenes that I skipped over.

At first I did not like Justin but the more you learn about his past the more you felt bad about his past and how it shaped him. I wanted everything to workout for him.

Elisabeth has been hurt and is doing the best job for Kaylie. She has been a mom to her goddaughter after her mom died. She ha

Elizabeth Donnelly and Justin Cade were in love. Right until Justin’s fear of commitment kicked in. Now Elizabeth is engaged to another man and raising her best friend’s daughter as her own.
Second Chance Christmas is a cute story. Elizabeth’s engagement to Stephen and her plans to leave Colorado have sent her family into an uproar. Elizabeth’s sister confronts Justin, sure that he broke Elizabeth’s heart and that’s the real reason she’s going. To make matter’s more complicated; Elizabeth’s adop

I love Christmas stories. I love Tanya Michaels. What more could I possibly ask for?

Second Chance Christmas is second in the Colorado Cades series, and I think Michaels' triologies just keep getting better. In Her Secret, His Baby, Arden Cade found her happily ever after, now it's her older brother Justin's turn.

Justin has reacted to tragedy much differently than his sister. He's a charmer, a man who keeps his distance because he doesn't want to be hurt again. Since the Cades lost their mother a

In Second Chance Christmas by Tanya Michaels, Elisabeth Donnelly is known as the quiet, reserved, mature and responsible Donnelly twin. So when she started dating Justin Cade, whom at the time was working for her family as a hiking guide, she was encouraged by her sister to do what she would not normally do. Their time together was great and she fell in love with him almost immediately, but when she told him he dropped her faster than she could blink and quit his job at the lodge.

Justin knows lo

I read the first book in this series and we get a little bit about Justin in Arden's story. You think that he is a womanizer and just wants to use women for sport. In this book you get to see inside Justin Cade and get to know him. He is a man hiding from the pain of losing his parents and having to get through that at such a young age. That is one of the main reasons he leaves Elisabeth when she tells him she loves him.

Elisabeth Donnelly is now in charge of her friends six year old daughter Kay

Elisabeth's taken on a lot: she's adopted her goddaughter when her friend Michelle, Kaylee's mom, passed away, and she's running the family lodge. She's engaged to a man who has been her emotional support, but she is following her heart and not her head. Her heart pitter-patters at the sight of Justin, her ex.

Justin himself has a lot to trouble him, as he's never gotten over the loss of his parents, and though he doesn't want to admit it, he's never gotten over losing Elisabeth either.

Even though this is book 2 in a series, I did not feel lost. The author gives enough back story to make the reader clued in. it was a second chance love story...well titled!....and the strength of the story came from the characters. Tanya Michaels has a gift for giving voices to extremely complicated, multi dimensional flawed but hopeful not hopeless. It was easy to become emotionally invested in the happily ever after. Ms. Michaels didn't disappoint; Second Chance Christmas was a sweet, well wr ...more
Another Christmas and holiday romance that hits most of my buttons. Elisabeth is planning to marry and move far from her home and the family ski lodge she helps run. She thinks it's best for her and her adopted daughter to find a stable husband and father, and to make a family for themselves. But her twin sister thinks moving away is a terrible idea and enlists (threatens) Elisabeth's former boyfriend to help. While spending time together Elisabeth and Justin become friends and Elisabeth and her ...more
Good read. The hero and heroine dated, but broke up several months before because the hero panicked over how close they were getting. The heroine is now engaged and planning to move to California away from family with her adopted daughter. This is apparently part of a series in which a lot of the plot took place in earlier books. So there are scenes with the stiff new fiance, with the adorable little girl (who actually throws a tantrum), with his family, her family-- the gamut. It's entertaining ...more

I just love these Colorado Cades!! I enjoyed Justin and Elizabeth's story. The ladies man, Justin, never thought he would ever want to settle down. That was until he broke Elizabeth's heart. Now chance encounters and a feisty little girl named Kaylee have got him rethinking his life and future.
Loved this book and I can't wait for the continuing story of the Cade family!

"Second thoughts and second chances are fitting themes in this second Colorada Cades story. The heroine's struggles to do what is right for herself, and her family, and the hero's need to accept change within himself are easy to view with compassion." RT Book Reviews, rated 4 stars

This is a good continuation of the Cades series. I liked the characters and the humor. I thought the sex scenes were extraneous and somewhat hard to believe, but at least there weren't a lot of the them. I'm looking forward to the third book in the series.

Second in the Cade family series. Justin Cade dumped Elisabeth Donnelly when she told him she loved him. Now she's engaged to someone else and her sister wants him to interfere. A decent second chance romance story.
