If the decisions you make don’t define you, what price would you pay to change them?

“Close your eyes. This is the darkness I see, I feel, I live because of my choices."

I spent my life running. Running from my past. A past that changed my life, robbed me of my childhood, and bound me for a life of silence. Silence protected me from further hurt. When I couldn't control my l

brilliant page turner totally loved it

If you did not read book one then stop, read it NOW and grab book 2. Why five stars? Well it is the kind of book that you finish and think about for weeks after. I totally read through and loved book one. This is a continuation. It is a very tough subject. So many times I held the book in my hand and spoke out loud "Why Lacey" or "Run away from him" It is a battered woman who has friends and family, she hides her fears. I was totally on the edge of my seat t

Normally, I can detach from a story when it comes to the subject matter of this one...but when I read the author's note, I lost it. There is nothing like feeling the pain of the writer, nothing. For that, I am thankful. Review to come with my tour post on 1/6...

I was provided a copy of Destructive Silence and Destructive Choices by Lu Ann in exchange for an honest review.

If you haven’t read the first book in Lu Ann’s incredible destructive series, stop what you’re doing. Put down your other book, and go buy the Destructive Silence. And then buy Destructive Choices. You will not regret it.

Destructive Choices picks up precisely where Destructive Silence left off. Here’s a warning, though: If you don’t like dark books that revolve around abuse, neglect,

This book overwhelmed me. After Destructive Silence I was hoping for a HEA. Or at least an end to some of Lacey’s pain. But the hits keep on coming!
This book starts just as the first one ends. Lacey is in the hospital and in a medically induced coma. But she can hear the talk around her and all of the voices- even Caine’s. This part broke my heart- who am I kidding this entire book broke my heart.
As she starts to heal she realizes that she has to get away from Caine, and keep Evan far a

Holy cow L.U. Ann. What are you doing to me????

Amazing. Amazing. Amazing.

Lacey has been through Hell. Just when she finally thought she found happiness, it flipped on her, and she went through even more heartache, trauma, horrible things that no one should have to go through.

Lacey is trying to rebuild her life again after Caine tried to destroy her. She is recovering from the car accident that nearly killed her and she has Devon back in her life. Devon is the man she met once at a club, made pl

Let me start by saying I was waiting impatiently to read this book. And was super excited to get my hands on it!!

The book continues exactly where book 1 left off.(if you haven't read book 1, you seriously need to, like asap!). I am still in absolute love with this series. I love Lacey and how she finally was able to put her foot down! I still wanted to reach.in this book and rip Caine to shreds! He is a complete ass****! I swear he is bi-polar! I'm glad that Lacey had finally found the love and

First off, I have to say you can NOT read this one without reading Destructive Silence. LU continued right where the first one left off. And then BAM! The tears flow, kindle flies, laughing at Becca's names for everyone (you will see as you read it), and then more tears. Happy and sad, of course. Lacey and Evan are sent on a journey of self discovery and a new life. But of course, it is not drama free. Caine rears his ugly head (why can't he just disappear, right?). Lacey gets a new love ...more

As I survivor... Thank you for sharing your story. I rarely read DA stories. I'd lived it and I really do not enjoy reliving it. I read Destructive Silence and Destructive Choices after my mom reviewed it for the blog tour. For my mom to give a novel a 5 plus stars, I knew I had to read it.

I don't want my words to take away from this story. It's a true story. A story lived by so many women and unfortunately not enough women are able to get their story out. Maybe those who haven't been affected b

Again I have to say that I enjoyed this book. I think this author is an amazing writer. I love that I get connected with the story as soon as I started reading. I was so happy that the book picked up exactly where it left off in book one. I also enjoyed that we got Cains point of view.

Emotional. I wish I could end this review with just that one word. Destructive Choices hits on every emotion possible. I don't know anyone personally with bipolar but the writing was so descriptive that everything seemed quite real. It is a dark read so there were parts that I had to put down my kindle and let it all process before moving on. I would recommend this book to readers that do not have an issue with topics such as depression, mental illness, and abuse.

I’ve always been silent not wanting to face the helpless child fighting for freedom. Freedom from herself. Praying to forget, sweeping my emotions under the rug, waiting for them to disappear one day.

What do you do when your world revolves around unwarranted guilt? Shouldering the pain of her world, Lacey sets forth to rebuild her life. When we last left her, she had naively decided to give Caine another chance. Side note; I don’t use naïve in a n

Starts straight off from where we left the last book Destructive Silence....I had hoped for a different outcome, but, never mind, it wouldn't have made for a good story!

Caine gets his voice heard and I am shocked when he is at the hospital while Lacey is on life support....but he doesn't come clean, he doesn't tell anyone the reasons she was in that road! The piece of work! ( so polite )

3.5 Stars in my Sky!

If you haven't read Destructive Silence I would definitely recommend reading it first because Destructive Choices picks up the story right from the end of book one.

After the cliffy at the end of the last book, Lacey has to rebuild her life, she also has to want to move on. There were so many times in book one where I really wanted her to speak up and tell her family what was going on with Caine. In this book I was really worried she was going to make the wrong decision.

To start i want to tell you, this a dark series. If you dont like to read about abuse, suicide, or depression this is not a good book for you.

I like this book better than the first. The writind was better, and the chapters weren't as drawn out as in the first. She has used he knowledge of certain things to make the descriptions very real. This book makes you stop and think what you can, could've, or should do everyday.

I really dont think it is necessary for the half chapters. Some of t

LU Ann has done it again. She delivered a book that makes you feel every emotion you could possibly think feel. Again this book deals with abuse and may not be for everyone, but I feel that this, as well as Destructive Silence needs to be read by everyone. This is a story that could so easily happen to anyone and does happen to several individuals out there.

Destructive Silence and Destructive Choices are only two parts of Lacey's journey. Part three is scheduled for release in June of 2014.

My heart breaks for Lacey and what she endures in these two books. Every time the unthinkable happened I had to remind myself that Lacey is based on the author's real life experience. What a harrowing ordeal for anyone to experience even one of these unspeakable acts, let alone all of them. Oftentimes I found myself wondering how much more this poor girl could po

Loved the first book in this series (Destructive Silence) & couldn't wait for this one to be released! LUAnn didn't disappoint! My heart ached for Lacey as this novel shed light on her dark and troubled story. Her family and friends play a significant part to this heroine’s victories, but her determination is from pure grit, which reflects a beautiful ray of hope. There’s a great deal of emotion in this novel, which tends to lead our beautiful girl astray at times, but the realism makes it so hard to put down!

I must thank the author for beginning each novel with such an endearing note for our young men and women, and for

This book continues Lacey’s struggles to remove herself from Caine’s control and move on after all the heartache and torment suffered.

This book has left me waiting for book three for way too long. I read 1 and 2 together so that has proved this wait to be difficult. It is such an intense roller coaster ride of emotional chaos. I was up and down, crying and laughing (there's a best friend with great humor). This book is so real for so many and what a brilliant way to depict the trials and tribulations of real life events of many women. I love L.U. Ann!!

I didn't know this story is based on real life events. WOW!!!! Some people may think that the events that happen to Lacey may be exaggerated but I seem to believe that life happens and sometimes is shits all over us. So yes I believe everything in this story could happen.
I don't want to go too much in detail about this story because I don't want to give anything away but I am really enjoying reading this series. I hope life gets better for Lacey and Evan.
