Finding the woman of your dreams having a family and being content is a gift and one that should be cherished as it can all be taken away from you in a heartbeat.

For Johnny Griffin he very nearly had it all, a beautiful wife and a baby on the way but life deals a cruel card his way and he looses them both. I reckon it takes a truly remarkably strong person to get over such a tragedy and find the strength to carry on with life. So naturally the person building up a wall around their heart is a r

NYC Angels: MAKING THE SURGEON SMILE by author Lynne Marshall is a Mills & Boon Medical Romance series release for June 2013.

Polly Seymour is as the author says ‘a people pleaser’. She could never say ‘no’ to anyone. And she always strive to make people around her happy. Then on her first day of work, she bumps into the grumpy Dr John Griffin, her boss. How could she make him smile?

Johnny was only happy around his small patients. He had a smile and a funny face always for them.

In Making The Surgeon Smile by Lynn Marshall Johnny Griffin is a talented surgeon who buries himself in his work. Loved by his patients, but not so much by his staff. At one time Johnny Griffin had everything. A beautiful wife he loved and adored and a baby on the way. And then the unthinkable happened 9/11. As a first responder he was there trying to help rescue his wife who was trapped in The World Trade Center. After more than a decade he has never moved on emotionally from his lost.

Making the Surgeon Smile is another triumph for author Lynne Marshall. I was extremely happy to receive an advanced copy of this lovely little hardcover book. And what a gorgeous cover! The NYC setting was a wonderful read and caused many a smile as I ambled through familiar streets.
I’ve always enjoyed the emotional level Ms. Marshall reaches in her medical stories. Having worked in the hospital setting as an RN, and dated my share of doctors, I recognize the author’s take on the forbidden work-

I received this book through a Goodreads ARC win.

I really like modern love stories, medical dilemmas and a happy ending. This one had all three.

Polly recently moves to NYC to leave a broken relationship behind her and start anew. Dr. John Griffin is fighting his own battles of loss. Can Polly and John find happiness after so much loss.

Excerpt – Making the Surgeon Smile by Lynne Marshall

Monday morning Polly Seymour dashed into the sparkling marble-tiled lobby of New York's finest pediatric hospital, Angel's. The subway from the lower East Side to Central Park had taken longer today, and the last thing she wanted to do was be late on her first day as a staff RN on the orthopedic ward.

Opting to take the six flights of stairs instead of fight for a spot in one of the overcrowded elevators, she took two steps

Lynne used to worry she had a serious problem with daydreaming, then she discovered she was supposed to write the stories in her head. A late bloomer, Lynne came to fiction writing after her children were nearly grown. Now she battles the empty nest by writing stories which always include a romance, sometimes medicine, a dose of mirth, or both, but always stories from her heart. She is a Southern ...more
