I'm decidedly not a Harlequin Romance reader, but I AM a fan of Inglath Cooper. I have read several of her books and she sent this one with a bag as part of a promotion for purchasing one of her ebooks. I set it aside for awhile and finally tossed it in with several other books to take to the beach. This is a great beach read. The story is about Annie who has taken over as mayor of her small town after her ex deserts the post. Enter Jack-the estranged son of the owner of a large plant in town-wh ...more

Annie's husband exbaseball star JD left both her and their son for a 20 year old. She took over his term as mayor when he left because she really cared about the people of her small town. Jack Corbin comes back to town to close Corbin mfg which is the towns main employer and had been even when his father was alive and started the business. Can Annie talk Jack out of closing the plant and save their town?

Annie McCade, the mayor of Macon's Point wanted to stop Corbin Mfg. from closing it's doors because so many people depended on their livlihood from the company in this small town. Jack, the owner and Annie got together to talk things over. Annie's ex came back into the picture to ger ahold of Annie again. Could Annie go back with him or would a relationship be created for Annie with Jack? Could the people of Macon's Point be prosperous again?
This was a nice relaxing read.

At some point, she decided she wanted to pursue a writing career, creating romance fiction that did for others what her favorite books have done for her. “I love character-driven books that leave me feeling as if I’ve really known these people and make me wish I ...more
