In the hard-hitting sequel to Kydona, the war for the east has begun in earnest. Stripped of his royal title, Marcus de Pilars suddenly finds himself at the forefront of a conflict bereft of any notion of humanity. This is the bronze steppe, where any offer of quarter is wasted breath, where even the prone wounded fight to their last blood-choked gasp—where those who live ...more

I got this book for free in return for an honest review. I like these kinds of books - I'm a Robert Jordan, Martin, Melanie rawn fan...so I expected to like it on principle alone.

Because I got the book for free am really really trying to like the main character but he just isn't doing it for me.

Im the type of person who can start reading a series in the middle and not really care but am confused. It seems to the be the kind of book that you absolutely must read the first book to understand. I'm

I really enjoyed this book. I was pretty well hooked into the story because of the last book, but I think the characters, both old and new, developed in an interesting way. Without spoiling the book, I found Marcus to be a much better man than I had thought he could be, and his relationships with his men and the new characters he encounters in the book help add a new dimension to him. I highly recommend this book, and I hope to see more from this author!

Here is another review for a really great book. If you like action, battle scenes and war stories with an underlying bit of romance and erotica, read on. As always, I try to refrain from using spoilers.

This is the sequel to Kydona which I reviewed in May, 2013. In case you haven't read the first book, Kydona, you can read that review as well if you'd like to, right here on Goodreads, on Amazon, or my Wordpress blog.

I think it's important for you to read my review of Kydona because in Kydona: Fro

Prince Marcus de Pilars of Elessia, now disgraced nobleman in Sword Company in Bloodied Regiment under Commander Lyle Durand. He's learning that battle isn't anything like what you read about in stories and tales. He's learning more valuable lessons than his tutors could provide for him and his best friend Vernon. He chafes at the delay in how things are run and thirsts to prove himself in spite of all that's happened to him. Commander Durand wants Marcus to promise to flee from battle which ...more

I was given this book for free to read and review, and I really wish I had enjoyed it. I've been trying for weeks to get into it, but after reading over half the book and disliking basically every character, I finally gave up. On top of the fact that I found none of the characters to be likable at all, I also thought the story was very slow and boring. I will say that I didn't read the first book in the series (and I didn't realize until well after I started that this was a sequel). That may be ...more

Tom lives in Skippack, Pennsylvania with his beautiful fiancé, Caitlin. When not whittling away at sequels, he’ll either be glued to his Xbox or sipping bourbon—always on the rocks. He put the finishing touches on his first book in Afghanistan, where he served as a junior officer in the United States Army.
