I like Stuart Woods for a dependable, well plotted story. The Stone Barrington novels have a few consistent activities: Stone goes shopping and buys Sea Island Cotton shirts, he eats at Elaines, women like to have sex with him and he'll cook them a steak, and his friend Dino swears a lot.

Someone stuck in an airport
OK. I'm not proud of this one, but I was given it by a friend who was moving back to Mobile and didn't want to pack a cheap hardback. I needed a break from the Gettysburg drama and read this page turning pice of crap. Wow. The protagonist's name is (I couldn't make this up) Stone Barrington. He's (naturally) an ex-cop, now lawyer, dashing, heavy drinking, and unattached. Need I say more? He eats steak and drinks artisan bourban, saves women in distress, and catches killers. Well what can I say. I love Stuart Woods and especially love his main character, Stone Barrington.
This one only earned a 3 star because there was just a little bit too much gratuitous "studliness" of the Barrington character. Maybe Woods was just running out of words for the meat of the story... <no pun intended>

If you want a mindless book that will keep your interest this is it. People all over are dying and how Stone Barrington remains unscathed as does his client is a little too improbable or maybe all the deaths are. Still there is a story in a story and you'll want to know what happens even if some of it is predictable.

Stuart Woods is not deep. These Stone Barrington novels are to be gobbled up waiting at airports and hanging around hotel rooms. As such, very useful because the writing takes little contemplation and you don't mnd interruptions. Good yarns but basically white noise.

Again, for my non-fiction "fix", Stone Barrington never disappoints. Every time I read a Stone Barrington Novel I'm reminded of what a man-whore Stone is, but he's so charming it's hard to not like him. Excellent read as always by Stuart Woods.

Stuart Woods has done it again. This is another Stone Barrington novel. Though it is not as good as some of his others, it is still incredible writing. Crime drama with scattered humor and funny little quips makes Stuart Woods great!

Stuart Woods is one of those writers whose books you either read or you don't. (And how's that for a nebulous statement?) His latest few, including this one, have been worth an hour or two.

Totally mindless and trashy book. But so is everything from Stuart Woods. I can't recommend it, but I did read it in less than a day when I was home sick.

Guilty pleasure - read in a quick day. His books are the equilvent to a Law and Order episode but with less depth. But yet I keep on reading them.

Legal/crime suspense. I enjoy his plots; this one had more than the usual graphic violence so didn't like it as much as some of his others.
