Wow! How many sex scenes can an author - or in this case, authors - cram into a book? A lot, apparently. I didn't keep track of them, but I'm willing to bet this book has more sex scenes than chapters. And that's why I'm shelving it as an "erotica-romantica" read even though it isn't officially labeled as that.

I don't know what to say here... I loved the concept of a sexed-up version of the X-Men (one of my favorite comics), but the final result disappointed me. Besides the t...more

I'm trying to get my thoughts together about this book and it's a little difficult. There's lots to enjoy about this book--first, it has a very original storyline about Remy, an ex-Navy SEAL who has a gift/curse of being able to control the weather but the weather also controls his libido. Apparently, when a storm is brewing, Remy's got to have sex, and often. Second, it starts out with a bang--immediate action and lots and lots and lots of hot, down and dirty (literally) hot sex (in the mud, ...more

I wasn't prepared for all that I read between the covers of this trade paperback. It certainly started right off and at first, I thought, "sex fest," but there were two very good stories running along with the erotic element that captivated my attention. This book actually had three stories running with it. The first and second played a large part in the book while the third was very minor and could have been omitted altogether. The transitions were fairly smooth and sometimes welco...more

This was a pretty good book. No wasting any time jumping right to the sex scenes though!

The premise is about an organization that employs supernatural people. Remy, the male lead, can control the weather but he is not part of this organization. They send in Haley to recruit him before the "bad guys" get to him and use him for nefarious purposes.

Like I said, it starts out with a bang, slows in the middle a little and then picks back up at the end when more peo...more

I liked this book! This is a story about a man named Remy who can control the weather. He has been able to do it his entire life and hates every minute of it. The weather also controls him... it is tied to sex, so when it starts to get stormy, his needs accelerate!

In comes Haley... she is a para meteorologist. She studies unusual happenings in the weather world for an agency called the ACRO. She is sent to study Remy undercover to try and recruit him for her organization.

Well, what a sizzling series (yes, pun intended) the writing team Sydney Croft has with their 'Storm/ACRO' novels about a group of non-government agents with paranormal abilities. Their organization is locked in a battle with another shady organization of people with similar talents who sell their services to the highest bidder. Almost all the individuals in the organization are emotionally hurt after a lifetime of being 'different'. Now that I've read the first and the second books, I'm only...more

The "X-men" comparison would be correct, in more ways than one. *wiggles eyebrows*

I really liked the concept of the story, and the sex scenes were HOT!! I liked the characters, Remy is such a Horn Dog, with a super cool power. Creed...now this is the one I'm seriously looking forward to more of.(whew) Annika- I really liked her smart ass and full of attitude character, who also has some super charged powers of her own. I really want to read more about Annika a...more

I have read a lot about this series and it lived up to my expectations for sure. Several of the descriptions included the word "erotic paranormal" to describe the books category and though I thought the book was hot and sexy, I would have to classify it on the lower end of erotic.

The story in a nutshell is about a loner named Remy who has been an outsider all his life because of his unique ability to control the weather. Well, to say that he has the ability to control the...more

Here's a phrase I never thought I'd use: There's just too much sex in this book. I love erotic romance. It's difficult for me to get through a kisses-only romance because I crave the steam, the passion, and the electrically-charged encounters in a spicier book. But I also crave romance. I want to see relationship development and the day-to-day interaction that doesn't involve throbbing, dripping sex organs and screaming orgasms. In PNR and adventure romance, I want to read about science and prob...more

I remember reading a short story of Sydney Croft awhile back and thought it was super steamy, sexy, and smoking hot! Riding the Storm was exactly that and did the romance between the leads sizzle! The plot itself was pretty interesting and I did enjoy the beginning of Annika and Creed's relationship. I'm definitely looking forward to that. Many reviews have said this series seems almost like X-MEN meets erotica romance... lol, and that is very true. The story itself pretty much concentrates on h...more

3.5 stars for me. I really liked this book. It was great for a first book in a series. I'll definitely will be reading the next soon.

There are 3 stories in this one, which are at the same time connected because the characters in each of them know each other. I loved Remy's and Haley's story. They were great. The thing with the tattoos was cool, I really liked how it connected them, although that they could be together through it even being apart was a bit silly for me.Creed and Annik...more

My first DNF of the year. Ugh! This book is too much for me, and I'm not ashamed to admit it. They are having sex almost from page one and it never seems to stop. I need a little plot please...and preferably one that doesn't involve using sex as a tool to study someone's paranormal abilities. There is also a side romance between two men that some people may enjoy, but I am not one of them.

How I got this book: Pima County Library

When I first found out that Larissa Ione and Stephanie Tyler teamed up together, I knew I had to read their books. When I realized they write erotic paranormal romance suspense…. well I was absolutely sold, my four favorite genres in one? YES! I hightailed it over to my local library and checked it out first thing.

Bwahahahahaha....and the book is not a comedy.

The premise isn't terrible, really. It actually could've been fairly interesting given the proper vehicle. The protagonist has a unique and unusual relationship with Mother Nature. The problem is that the characters, who are supposed to be intelligent, just aren't. And the plot hinges on the horniest group of characters I've ever read.

The heroine of the book is a parameteorologist - she studies and investigates otherwise inex...more

4 ½ stars – Paranormal Romance/Erotica

A super cool series about superhumans/heroes with a diverse range of paranormal gifts/powers working for a private agency called ACRO, Agency of Covert Rare Operatives, to battle the bad guys intent on using their paranormal prowess for destruction. It’s described as “erotica meets the X-Men”, and I think that’s a very accurate depiction for the series.

I’m a little late getting on the ACRO band-wagon, but I’m glad to say better late t...more

This book in the ACRO series focuses on Haley an Remy as the main H/h. Haley is assigned to bring in Remy to ACRO. To do whatever it takes, even sleep with him.

Remy has had a hold over the weather ever since he was a child. His emotions have been tied to storms. He needs release or the pressure builds. He drives women crazy with his constant urge for sex but he's never been in love.

I am not sure what ACRO is other than the 'good guys' with super powers. The book did not...more

This book is…COOL. It’s basically about real life superheroes and bad guys. There is a group called ARCO, Agency of Covert Rare Operatives that recruits people with special abilities/powers and helps them to use their powers for good. The bad guys are from a group called Itor, but not much background was given about them yet.

Remy’s power is that he can control the weather. At times the weather controls him according to his emotions. Specifically when he is turned on, he brings on...more

I bought this book because of the good reviews at amazon but now I´m asking myself if I read the same book. Not that the storyline per se was bad although in my opinion it started to get interesting only in the third part of the book.
Remy "T-Remy" Begnaud an Ex-Navy-SEAL has a special talent he can control the weather and in return the weather controls him and his sex drive (I´m sure you know now what to expect in this book). Haley Marie Holmes an Ex-Air-Force officer is a membe...more

This is the first installment of the ACRO series written by Sydney Croft (the alias for the combined writing talents of Stephanie Tyler and Larissa Ione).

This series has definite X-Men aspects to it, so those who enjoy such comic book heroes, will already have a great appreciation for this type of series. The basic premise that's set up in this series is that there are two corporations recruiting those with special gifts (psychics, telekinetics, ghost-translators, etc.), namely ACRO...more

Spolied a freaking awesome premise and some interesting charachters with relentless bad sex. Really ugly, harsh sex. And I like my smexin. Too much sex, not enough plot and world-building. Did I mention there was too much sex?

Okay, I'm actually debating of buying Sydney Crofts other books in this ARCO series. This may not sound like a big deal to you, but trust me, it is. I'm a librarian so it sort of goes against my nature to buy books. But this book was so hot and steamy and good - it is killing me to wait to read more of them. Maybe Santa will bring me some good books for Christmas! This book had hooooooot sex scenes in them and you couldn't help but love the couple. Can't wait to read the rest of the series...more

Don't hesitate to pick this one up...

I finished this book this weekend, and I was so grateful for a better-than-average book that I wanted to clap my hands and cheer. The book was nothing like I thought it would be. I knew that Larissa Ione (as part of the Sydney Croft writing due of Ione and Stephanie Tyler) wrote higher heat level books under the pen name Sydney Croft. I should have realized they'd be seriously delicious!

The book requires an immediate suspension of disbelie...more

I expected to enjoy this book based on all of the reviews, and it fulfilled my expectations. I loved Remy, he was probably my favorite thing in the book - Sydney Croft did a great job portraying his troubles with his "curse" without it being whiny and pathetic. It was easy to understand where he was coming from. And he is definitely HOT!

There were a few minor things that prevented me from totally loving the book. There were three storylines including the main storyline ...more

This book had me from the opening chapter. The chemistry between Remy and Haley sizzles like the lighting that strikes whenever they are in contact with one another. It was an enjoyable, sexy read. Great for the upcoming summer months!

Remy is full of anger and frustration at the “curse” he received from Mother Nature. To top it all off, he becomes sexually aroused when the storm rage near, which adds a wonderful, erotic nature to this story. Remy thinks he’s headed home after many years away t...more

I'm really glad a read past the first chapter of this book. I usually don't like weather-related paranormal stories, and this one has a major story line connected to a man who has shaky control over the weather. But it also has other characters with other powers who show up later and made the story much more interesting for me. AND it's smutty enough to qualify as "erotica light".

It's basically Xmen (Arco) vs. bad guy team of mutants (Itor), but with a lot more sex. I alre...more

WOW, I haven't been fully satisfied with a PNR for awhile (aside from Nalini Singh's or Jeaniene Frost's). Although this should be categorized more as paranormal erotic romance ^_^. This one kept me up reading -- and the only reason I had to stop was because the battery of my mp3 player that acted as a reader died. I think the book is sensual and steamy. Yes, there are a lot of sex scenes but I don't think they are overwhelming (I am so used to the m/m erotic that this one doesn't bother me :p)....more

The first book in my favorite paranormal romance series, an undercover government agency called ACRO featuring agents who possess special abilities. This story is about Haley, an ACRO parameteorologist, and Remy, a recruit she's after who can affect the weather. Much of their story is set in the steamy Louisiana bayou, and they immediately begin a strong sexual relationship as Haley has to convince Remy to join the team, while at the same time they're fighting enemy agency ITOR who are building ...more

I've mentioned before about being wary of authors whose works I've not read and technically, Sydney Croft is a new author to me. However, given that Sydney Croft is the pseudonym for the writing duo of Larissa Ione whose Demonica and Lords of Deliverance series which I adore and Stephanie Tyler, I thought I'd give this first book in the ACRO series a try.

And I'm so glad I did! I've seen this series compared to X-men with erotica and whilst I can see why, I think that's an overly simpli...more
