Preternaturally dull early textbook on physical geography intended for elementary school students, which goes a long ways toward explaining why so many children lived in dread of the one-room schoolhouse. It's interesting to watch as someone tries to explain the way the world works without grasping tectonic drift, which remarkably wasn't accepted until the 1950s. It's basically a matter of "volcanos and earthquakes tend to happen along these lines, and we don't have a clue why," except with lots ...more
