This incredible book is about ordinary people overcoming extraordinary circumstances. Each person's story is powerful and inspiring-- it's best not to read this book cover to cover in order to fully appreciate each story. I found myself reflecting on many of the stories days after.

I will remember this book during the holidays as it will make a great gift for friends and family!

This book combined amazing photographs with life stories to inspire you. The people told their stories with the words & the author took the photographs to pull the book together. The people told their lives around 1 word. Very interesting perspective on what makes people who they are.

In an age where we all at some time must rise above misfortune and challenge, this book will make a ...more

I got this book through first read giveaways. This book was a lot better than i thought it would be. Wasn't much of a text heavy book as much as it was an emotionally heavy book through the stories Dianne chose to put in the book. Overall this book was worth the read
