I snatched it up early this morning because it was free today. To be frank, I was not expecting a whole lot, the cover was a little plain, the story seemed to be another very common one, but it was free. Hell! What would I be losing but a few eye rolls and some sighs and groans.

That was what I was expecting. It was far from what I got. This book was actually VERY good and I enjoyed it enough that I read and read it all day long until I finished. No, it isn't the be-all, end-all of the written wo

Good read, nicely written, the characters were a bit confusing to start with, both seemed a bit contradictory ( both strong and vulnerable )
The more I read, the more I enjoyed it

I picked up this gem while it was free on Kindle. After reading it beginning to end in the same day I would have definitely paid for it. (aside from a few grammar/formatting issues) It has 2 strong characters, Julianne and Emily and I was immediately drawn to them. They are both broken but have an immediate attraction to each other that takes some time to develop which is done beautifully. I am definitely looking forward to more from Danielle Fox and anticipating what else she has in store for ...more

One of those books that I one clicked after seeing on Facebook, and I am glad I did, I loved it, still much to learn about these characters and I can't wait for the next book Bound by Her. I am hoping for the happily ever after they deserve.
Both have demons that they need to destroy and Emily buried hers in this book now is Julian's turn.

I love when a book grips me from the very first page. I was totally hooked. I loved the characters and the story, can't wait for part two. It maybe similar to other books out there but if the story is written well then it doesn't matter. Will definitely recommend this book.

I was expecting more from this book, it wasn't that I didn't like it, I did it just didn't seem to flow and for me, something was missing. Emily is the mother of three year old Maia, she's at college and the book starts on her first day at work. Her new job is working bar at The Lounge just as she's entering work she stumbles and is caught by Julian, the owner and this is the start of the mutual attraction between these two. Now these two come with enough baggage to sink a cruise ship but they ...more
I just could not get into this book. I tried. I really did. It took me several days to finish it.

This is the fly by the seat of your pants relationship of Julian and Emily. He's a successful businessman and she's a single mother trying to make ends meet. I thought the story seemed a bit different so I thought what the heck and tried it.

I don't like to give bad reviews, but this book was rather predictable. And, at times I felt like the writer had ADHD as it skipped from one thing to the next in

Loved this book I know you think probably same old same old but I really loved emily & julian. Julian flawed tho he is (and arnt most men) has really found his sole mate in emily, but she too has a past and together they fight to overcome hers in this book. Cant wait for the follow up Bound by Her this promises to help Julian with his. We all love a happy ever after but think there are lots of hurdles left to cross before that happens!!!and lets face it if the main people dont have problems ...more

All in all I'm not too sure how I feel about this book.

Emily and Julian were great characters, but there was a few characters who didnt really mesh well with me.

Adrian- Her friend from college- Didnt really see why he was even in the story. A big deal was made of him at the beginning but he just hovered round in the background.

Jay- The rapist ex....totally underwritten character. Had potential to be written into the story a lot more than he was. There was fear of Jay but not enough of Jay

c2013. To be fair, this really isn't my favourite genre and as such I feel awfully mean giving it a low rating. Its a stereotypical modern love story with the perfect hero and heroine. The style of writing was fine but the plot and characterisation brought nothing new to the table. "My deepest regret is that I allowed such beautiful innocent eyes to witness me behaving like a deranged animal. I'm sorry, Emily." I can think of a few more reasons to be sorry. Unable to recommend to the normal cr ...more

This was such a sweet book, I loved the way Julian was with Emily & especially her daughter, Maia. Emily is hiding out with her daughter from her abusive ex, living with her cousin who is also her best friend. Julian is a rich, successful business man & he owns the hottest club in town. Emily gets a job bartending at the club Julian owns, she bumps into him on her first night there & they are instantly attracted to each other. This was a really good book & I can't wait to read ...more
I just couldn't get into this book and had to stop at 52%. Emily is a single mother who gets a job in an upscale club and catches the eye of the owner, Julian. Neither of them are looking for a relationship - Emily was abused by her former boyfriend and Julian doesn't do romance. Although Emily's story is a bit different, there seem to be a lot of similarities with FSOG.
