Jane Black has written the breakup album of the century, earning her a Grammy, a huge legion of new fans, and the pressure to repeat her success. Sure, the heartbreak from her husband’s unconventional abandonment might have been her inspiration, but it hasn’t done her any favors in the dating department. So when Matthew Harrigan, the toughest music journalist out there, as ...more

5 Holy Shit Stars!

Let’s start off with some visuals. Now, I know that David Gandy is not the only man out there with a British accent, but come on… blue eyes & eminently lickable… that is pure muse making right there. Because seriously if I ever met David Gandy the only words out of my mouth after being quickly arrested would be “Look at him – who wouldn’t lick him?”

Okay, let’s get back to the book.

Jane Black finally seems to have hit it big, after three albums it only took having her hear

Well my Lauren Blakely cherry has officially been....

And I really, really liked Far Too Tempting!! Guess I'll have to go back and check out some of her other books!

FTT was definitely on the sweeter side. It didn't have a lot of angst and un-neccesary drama. That conflict that was there was resolved in a mature way and qucikly at that. The storyline was also a bit different which was refreshing.

Jane Black has just won a Grammy for writing this generation's break-up album.

What is the best way for a musician to heal a broken heart?

Write a song about it of course!

Or a whole album.

Which is exactly what Jane Black does, never in a million years, dreaming of the success that would come with it. But with her new found stardom, comes people digging in her closet and exposing secrets she didn't really want t

I read an early draft and it is imprinted on my brain. I LOVED it. I can not wait to read again when it is released from Entangled Publishing. Yeah, yeah, I know I'm a Lauren Blakely junkie and yeah, yeah, I get early copies...but omg, omg, omg..I can't wait to read this one again and I NEVER read a book twice. I'm just too busy. But for this one I will make an exception.

Jane & Matthew

The story starts with Jane receiving a Grammy for her album "Crushed". It's a break-up album that she created after her divorce.

“I’m not at all ashamed he’s gay…I’m ashamed for being so goddamn blind for so many years. I’m embarrassed that I was so stupid I missed all the signs…I’m annoyed that I’ve been unwanted for so long. Untouched, unkissed, undesired for years.”

But if your heart's been stomped on, your emotions shattered, your feelings maddeningly unrequited, then you stand a much better chance of writing an opus.~Matthew Harrigan, Beat Magazine

Jane Black has been totally broken. But her music, her pain and her son gave her the inner strength to rise above it and make something positive out of it. She created the ultimate break up album called Crushed. But even though she and her music have gained respect and popularity, she still has fears, insecuriti

I have read all of Lauren Blakely's novels and they keep getting better and better. This is my new favorite. I fell in love with the characters from the beginning, Jane is an awesome Rock Star and Matthew is a tough Rock Critic but from the start they were flirty and fun together. I have to have humor and banter to stay interested in a book. This one has the perfect mixture of emotions involved, can go from tears to sm

I received an advance copy of this book to write a review. I have to admit, it's my first book by Lauren Blakley and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It's about Jane a struggling musician going through divorce and feeling bad about herself. Suddenly, her album is a huge success and she is a star. This is about how she deals with success and new love. Matthew Harrington, a hot music critic wants an interview and Jane.

I loved this book so much. Matthew is beyond swoon worthy- him being British was a definite bonus . Jane is a great lady who struggles to find herself and her voice throughout the book. The secondary characters, especially Ethan, Owen and Jeremy are all great! Loved The Doctor too ;)

I absolutely LOVE Lauren Blakely, and was so excited to be able to read an ARC of 'Far Too Tempting'. In typical Lauren fashion, this book did not disappoint.

Although Jane Black is finally finding success as a musician, she is still mourning her failed marriage. Enter Matthew Harrigan, a critic for Beat, a music magazine (added bonus: he's British!). They've known (and secretly admired) each other through the industry, but her success opens the door for them to spend time together and get to kno

Music and a hot Brit – yeah…I’m so on board with this book! :-) I have a slight fixation with Lauren Blakely books. I can always count on her to write emotional love stories with awesome heroines, deliciously dreamy BBF’s that are super sexy with just enough angst but always leaves me with a smile on my face at the end, and Far Too Tempting completely lived up to my expectations.

Lauren Blakely is one of my favorite authors. I’ve read many of her books, so when I was offered an ARC of "Far Too Tempting" in exchange for an honest review, I jumped at it. I didn’t expect to be disappointed, but I kinda didn’t expect to fall madly in love either. Well, I wasn’t, and I did.

I think this may be my favorite Lauren Blakely novel yet. And yes, I know I say this every time, but that's because it's true every time.

She's one of those authors that seems to improve from book to book, which means that I can't wait to read her next one.

Yes, the "rock star falls in love" plot has been done to death, but this has a unique spin. For one, the rock star is a woman. And even more than that, she's basically Adele! She wrote the definitive heartbreak album, centered around the end of

Far Too Tempting is a fast paced, witty contemporary love story. At twenty-eight, Jane Black has written her first hit album, Crushed after her husband walked out on her. She was in so much pain she didn’t know what else to do and that pain became a hit. She has been a struggling Indie rock singer-songwriter for years and now her band is famous. Her husband, Aidan married her and seven years later, left.

Matthew Harrington is a music critic and wrote a glowing review on Crushed in Beat magazine.

I have a new favorite Lauren Blakely book, and it's Far Too Tempting.
Though Far Too Tempting could have been really stereotypical (there's an English guy, a girl dumped by her husband because he realizes that he's gay, and the main character is a rockstar), the book wasn't stereotypical at all.
Matthew Harrigan is the main boy/love interest and he is SO PERFECT. But he's perfect in a sense that he is incredibly nice, good looking, and just plain incredibly- but he's also flawed, which makes him s

“Pain has a very funny way of subsiding, eventually, so you can survive. It has this way of not suffocating you every single day. Sure, some days you’re still blindsided by a memory, a feeling, a song. But other days, you realize you can get through and get by and not feel the claustrophobia, the fear that you’ll never be normal again.”

I fell completely in love with Far Too Tempting once I read the above passage. Reading this book was almost like taking a personal journey with Jane. Her pain was

I absolutely love reading books about musicians, the business, and the impact it has on their personal lives. I think it all stems back to my obsessive boyband phase in high school. I seriously loved reading about the music, touring, and how they would find that balance between their personal and public lives. I also wanted to be a singer for the longest time, so I suppose that also has to do with it. Anyways. One of my favorite things about this book is that I thought Lauren did such a great jo ...more

Here is another reason why I adore Lauren Blakely. Far Too Tempting is a brilliant new adult contemporary romance with a female indie grammy award winner as the lead character, smatterings of musical references from indie rock bands to Johnny Cash, flirty sexual innuendo emails and a hot British music critic.

Jane, a female indie rock musician, has self-doubts about her sex appeal towards men after the facade of her marriage. Jane is also a working mom. She doesn't have a conventional job yet I
