This book sucked me and then left me wanting more.

Sandcastles always fall........ with each book the story just keeps getting better and better. The author keeps you on your toes with all the twists and turns and I love it. Just when you think the story couldnt get any better.... it freaking does. Ive said it once and I'll say it 100 more times, I love blood and guts in my vampire books and movies. Bella doesnt settle on the gory details and my imagination runs wild picturing hearts being ripped...more

Just when I think Bella Forrest has done her worst at tearing my heart out and putting my nerves on edge, she goes and ups the ante on me! A Castle of Sand brings us right into the heart of the action, suspense, and drama that is leading The Shade toward its fate, with Sofia and Derek taking center stage as the humans and vampires attempt to secure their place in this future. The king’s return threw one roadblock after another into the plans, though, and the hits just kept coming for prince Nova...more

BELLA FORREST HAS DONE IT AGAIN and has given us a book that clearly will keep you on the edge of your seat. So much action and suspense, with the many twists and turns to keep your head spinning. I absolutely love how this series is panning out and the story just gets more riveting and exciting as we read along. And, just when you think you have all things figured out, Bella throws a curve ball and has you stumped as to what to expect next. Keeps me definitely wanting more and hanging for the n...more

Let's talk cover. The color scheme is gorgeous. I'm not sure how I feel about the guy though. Maybe it's because I have the lead character looking very different in my own head.

Ugh! This book was just released, so now I have to wait forever to get my greedy hands on the next book.

A Castle of Sand, is a little more intense emotionally than the other two books, you can tell it's just going to get darker from here on out in Sophia and Derek's adventures. It already has. This book, has many mixed emotions, and a lot of guilt and sorrow, mixed in with some pride, and most definitely lots of love.

Sophia (human) and Derek (Vampire, also prince of the Shade), couldn't be anymo...more

WOW! Bella Forrest never ceases to amaze me!! Her work is full of drama, romance and so much more! I love reading her style of writing, its AH_MAY_ZING!! A Castle of Sand is the best yet, in my opinion.

Sofia is caught up in an unknown world that has become her own. She is now with the man she loves and is trying to move on, only there seems to be others who would like nothing more than to separate them and those who would love to have Sofia for their own sick purposes. As if that's not enough So...more

Wow!!!! That was awesome!!!!!! What an ending!!! I was so afraid it'd be a killer cliffie that had me beating down a wall. Now it's just got me desperate to start A Shadow of Light. I'm so excited!!! Each book is just better and better! And after reading the first 5 Vampire Academy books and loving them, I'm finding this series better. Crazy concept. But Derek and Sofia have to be like my ultimate top PNR couple. Shit, they've gone through hell and back and their love is unwaverin...more

With every book in this series it gets harder and harder to review them. Ever since A Shade of Vampire I became the fan of this series and even now three books later things haven't changed. I still enjoyed the story and once again I can't wait to read more.

In the previous sequel A Shade of Blood some things made me realize what I do like and what I don't like when it comes to this series. For instance I enjoy Sofia and Derek's relationship so much that I don...more

Bella Forrest has done it again! I love this series! A Castle of Sand was amazing and the story just keeps building and getting more complex. If I thought there was nowhere left for the story to go, I was definitely wrong, because I can’t get enough. The plot is incredibly interesting and completely unpredictable. I’m already waiting impatiently for the next installment.

I’m amazed by the character growth in A Cast...more

Wow, I feel like I need to catch my breath. This book is a whirlwind of emotion and action. I gave the first two books 5 stars as well, but, this one is the best of the three. I absolutely love the way the characters have all developed in this book. Ben has finally gotten past his need for revenge and finally accepts the role he is to play in Sofia's life. Then, there is Sofia and Derek. The love and respect they have for one another grows throughout the book. And as individuals they each really...more

A Castle of Sand is so incredible! I think it's my favourite book of the series so far, for a number of reasons. There's just so much in it, and so many changes. Sofia and Derek's relationship is put to the test, and it's uncertain whether they can get past it. Sofia's mother and father are both back in her life, and that changes a lot too, since they're nothing like she expected. This book, guys... I want to re-read it already! It was that good.

I want to start...more

Man these books never go how I expect them to go and I LOVE EVERY WORD OF IT!! Sofia and Derek are my bitter sweet couple! It infuriates me that they can NEVER have the happiness they want but, man what a ride they are on!

5+++ OMG OMG stars!

I think I enjoyed this one more than the first :)

Sofia is back on the Shade. Ben has joined the Hunters and Derek is back to his normal self (if that is possible).

Everything seems to be going wonderfully until Derek's father reinstates himself as King of the Shade and refuses to follow any of Derek's initial demands.

With the human population at risk. Sofia finds alliances with the naturals and the vampires but the beautiful sand castle starts to fall apart.

Lucas is still ravi...more

Bella throws herself before the lions. Head first never looking back!

Already the third and last book of this lovely Shade series!
Sofia is an amazing character, in one hand terrible what she have to go true but wow what would of be great to be in her shoes. She is strong and knows what she want en of course she is getting it. And by it I mean the amazing Derek.

When I left the Shade, everything seemed off. It was as if I woke from a dream and came back to reality. Was I really there? Did all of that really happen? Was I missing him? I'd ask myself these questions. Now that I'm back I've never been happier. The moon has never shone brighter. Derek is the hopeless romantic I remember. Things are in alignment until his father the King comes back to rule.

"What is this I hear of you falling for one of your slaves?" He demands.

It has been centuries since th...more

The author gave me this ARC for an honest review.

Another very good book in the Shade of Vampire series by Bella Forrest! And I have to say that this one is definitely my favorite in the series so far! Adventure, drama and romance are combined and the result is a fast-paced book that all the fans of this genre will enjoy. There is a huge improvement in the writing style of the author and as she did in the previous two books, she puts some not anticipated twists in the story that kept my interest....more

When I started reading A Castle of Sand, it felt like returning to well loved family. This book starts off with the evil Gregor Novak as king of the vampire sanctuary, the Shade. The humans on the island are in mortal danger. Sofia must choose whether she wants to become a vampire or join the other humans at the catacombs and the exiled brother, Lukas, who, together with Borys Maslen, are planning something. None of this is good news for Sofia Claremont and Derek Novak. At the same time Ben Huds...more

I love the Shade of Vampire series. I think it is different and I really like how the vampires are portrayed in it - like real vampires, not some idealistic envisonment of them. Every time that a new Shade of Vampire is being released I get super excited. I love the world that Bella Forrest has created with the vampires and hunters and the more I read about it the more I fall in love with it.

In this novel, we start out where the last one ended - much like the previous one. I love that I can just...more

It's becoming better and better!

I already liked book 1 and 2 but I definitely loved book 3!

It's full of action, twists and turns and you can never guess what will happen next! I couldn't put it down!

The romance between Derek and Sofia is intense, both trying to live it fully, aware this could be a Castle of Sand. They try to "meet in the middle", to find a way to be together eternally without Sofia being turned and plagued by the hunger.

We discover more about the main characters, their pasts, ho...more

A Castle in the Sand brings us back to the world of The Shade. As the other’s before it, I devoured this story and still thirst for more! Sofia has really grown throughout the span of these novels, but I really think her level of maturity in this installment has really shown her acceptance of Derek and her willingness to help the Naturals of The Shade. She is fierce, stubborn, independent, and compassionate. She is a born leader, and that trait really starts to show.

Derek is still fighting who h...more

Sofia and Derek are happily living together but the presence of Derek's father Gregor is taking its toll, Gregor is openly breaking Derek's rules and making rules of his own in an effort to drive a wedge between the couple, one of these new rules sends Sofia off to the catacombs to live. With tension building it's only a matter of time before a collision occurs between father and son, who will win and what damage will be done in the meantime. What will happen as the blood in the chilling chamber...more

This series keeps getting better and better!!

"Sandcastles always fall."

I love the sandcastle reference throughout this book. Sofia compares her life with Derek to a sandcastle. Sandcastles do not last forever. They either crumble or waves wash it away. It seems that bits and pieces of her sandcastle crumbles away as the story unfolds.

When Derek's father returns and takes command of The Shade, he tries everything to tear Sofia and Derek apart. The balance of The Shade is ruined. Will peace ever...more

OMG Bella you did it again- how this author manages to keep me captivated? IDK but she has the magic touch - whirlwind action has you non stop turning pages - finding every excuse not to live life until you are done with this book. Sofya and Derek's relationship is put to the ultimate test. Sofya is bethrothed to someone else. Her father searches for her. Claudia is hell bent on revenge with Derek. Lucas is busy plotting with the Maslens. INGRID IS JUST crazy. And Ben...my dear Ben is sooo torn...more

My goodness, reading this book was like riding a rollercoaster with its full speed. My feeling was upside down and in some part I wanted to tell Bella Forrest to give Sofia & Derek a break! They are constantly in danger and there is always something happen to them. But boy....I do love it :D

“I can’t leave Sofia. Not after everything that happened at The Oasis. I was walking right to my death when I went there to get her. What difference does it make now?”

I am seriously nervous at the pace I am reading Bella Forrest's books! I am addicted! Every book seems to get better than the one before, and they were all good! GREAT!!! I wanted to enjoy this more, I really did, but unfortunately, my wants were left unrequited. Part of the reason was because I just wasn't in the mood for a book solely focused on the romance, which was my fault entirely. I ignored the little voice in my head that told me to wait just a little bit longer to open the novel, and became disappointed because of it. The other reason was because the protagonist, Sofia, just seemed to continuously annoy me throughout the second half of the novel. If you...more

The third book in The Shade of Vampire series is possibly my favorite. So many things happen in this book that you are gasping for air through the whole read, wondering how on earth Sofia is staying sane in all that goes on in her life!

I really liked the way the third book had an interesting and exciting plot with many surprising and totally unexpected twists but what I really, really loved, was how Derek was portrayed in this book. He was amazing! He was so much…more. He tried so hard to be wo...more
