A fun cookbook/story for any hungry Walking Dad fan.

This was quite a bit of fun. It has fun recipes like Gory Red Grinder and Sweet-ish Fleshballs, but it is interspersed with vignettes about survivor Pam and her family. She has pleasant memories of her childhood friendship with everyone's favorite redneck, Daryl Dixon, and we also get to follow Daryl on a supply run. Will Pam and Daryl finally meet again all these years later? Will she make him another grilled cheese sandwich? Will he kill a squirrel for her?

This was written very tongue-in-chee

Who knew reading a cookbook could be so much fun? The Snacking Dead tells the story of a few survivors of the zombie apocalypse who are just trying to stay alive and eat some decent food along the way. Every segment of the story is paired with a recipe for a snack that the characters have cobbled together from dangerous grocery store forages and abandoned campsite leftovers.

Although the writing itself is only so-so, the book concept is funny and enjoyable. The female protagonist hits pitfall aft

If you like the Walking Dead and have a sense of humor this is the book for you. With just four chapters "Appetizers for an Apocalypse, Eating on the run, Messy bites for the Newly Dead and Last Call." The book offer recipes for parties or everyday meals, there's something for everyone. Some of my favorites are: Gutted Mushrooms with Bacon and Spinach --I love all of the ingredients. Last Stand Skillet Cornbread, a little sweet, but still a tasty treat. Cat head biscuits with Sawmill Gravy--if ...more

I've never seen anything like this "parody in a cookbook". Pure genius! The story is hilarious and gruesome while the recipes make you think twice (is this truth or fiction?). I may use this as an idea for a holiday party. Great story, mouth-watering photos and interesting recipes. 5+ stars for originality.

Funny story to go along with the idea of the walking dead. At first I thought I would be too disgusted to even try some of these recipes and while their names can imply something gross there are no pictures that were disturbing. I would be very interested in trying some of these recipes, they look yummy!

A story based on a very popular zombie apocalypse graphic novel and TV show meets cookbook. I vaguely looked at the recipes in this. I was more interested in the story even if it blatantly copied the storyline and characters from the Walking Dead. The two star rating says it all: it was okay.

This is a fun cook book / zombie story.

The story was fun, and I like how it was integrated with the recipes.

I love the food styling in the photographs. There is a lot of oozing, which serves to make the food both appetizing and gory at the same time.

This clever cooking tome is a must peruse for Walking Dead fans who like to cook. Not a ton of "new"recipes but excellent presentation and cooking tips.

I don't watch the tv series, so I'm not sure about the characters, but the concept of cookbook with zombie story, is creative and fun. And the recipes are easy enough to make on the run.
