In Cassidy’s romantic intrigue novel, FBI profiler Gabriel Blankenship is sent to the Bachelor Moon Bed-and-Breakfast when three people mysteriously disappear—one of which is a former FBI agent himself. Hardened of heart, Gabriel struggles to stay focused on the case after meeting the manager—a beautiful blonde named Marlena Meyers. Marlena wants love and family and that threatens the desire exploding between them because Gabriel doesn’t believe in happy-ever-after endings. When Marlena is targe ...more

I was a bit torn by this one. I hate that there is no progress on the missing family. I really like Marlena but Gabriel was harder to like. Now characters that had a crappy childhood so they swear they will never love are a staple in literature, but he had a few moments of true Class A jerk behavior that were hard to forget. Overall a pretty good read. My one peeve with this one was actually that the characters were ALWAYS either eating or drinking or fixing food. I got really sick of hearing ab ...more

This was a fantastic book! Very fast read, one day! The hero,Gabriel , feels that he can't love due to his tragic upbringing. Marlena the manager of the bed-and-breakfast, who also has a tragic upbringing, feels that love is important and it's very important to love rather then not. The chemistry is unbelievable and the mystery very good.

I was literally hooked from the very first chapter, although at first page did not get it right away but just like that, couldn't stop. I have been reading Carla Cassidy's books for a while. Love this one, actually this one could be an interesting one to be adapted into a TV movie just like Nora Roberts books.

Good story concept where a Manager of a hotel finds the owner, wife and daughter missing and the kitchen table set with cookies and milk the night before. To even make it better, two attempts are made on the hotel manager's life and the police have to decide if this is separate or connected.

One very big disappointment is that the story never wrapped up to a conclusion. We're left finding out who make the attempts on the Manager but the family is still missing with no leads as to what happened.

Gabriel Blankenship and his team are sent to Bachelor Moon B&B to investigate the disappearance of the owner, a former FBI profiler, and his family. There seem to be no clues and no viable suspects. Then B&B manager, Marlena Meyers, is shoved into a pond. When another attempt is made on her life they need to determine if the crimes are connected. Gabriel and Marlena are drawn to each other but both have past abandonment issues. This all leads to a lot of frustration. Well developed. Look ...more
