"Season of Hope" was an absolutely wonderful Christmas story about love, family, helping others less fortunate, following your God-given purpose, facing your fears, forgiveness, and last but not least, hope. This was my first Virginia Carmichael novel, and it certainly did not disappoint. I look forward to reading many more of her novels in the future. "Season of Hope" is definitely worth reading. You won't regret it!

"Season of Hope" is a clean, well-written, and engaging love story by prolific and talented Christian romance novelist Virginia Carmichael.

In this age of romantic fiction that often revolves around explicit and gratuitous love scenes, this book swims against that tide and instead gives the reader an inspiring tale with a whole lot more depth to it. Through the well-drawn characters of principled Dr. Gavin Sawyer and beautiful newspaper owner Evie Thorne (who has made ethical mistakes in her care...more

"Season of Hope" by Virginia Carmichael is the second book around the volunteers of The Mission, a shelter and more, based in Denver. Not sure if there such a place but it sounds good.

This was a very good book focusing on second chances and how we can rise above our past mistakes with God's grace. It is also a great way to show that even big mistakes can be used to better others if we are willing to try.

Evie has done something's in her past that she is ashamed of but she has learned from them, a...more

4 and 1/2 stars!
Such a great story about forgiveness and growing from past mistakes. I loved to see some of the old characters from Season of Joy, and catch up with them in the familiar setting of the Denver mission.
Gavin and Evie have a great pull, not only between them, but also towards the reader. I became interested in them, in their situations, and their problems, and wondered how they'd overcome the obstacles.
I love the skill of the author as a storyteller. Nothing feels force or contriv...more

I really like how Season of Hope revived some of the characters from the first book, Season of Joy, and told more of their stories as well as telling the stories of the new cast of characters. Picking up threads of other stories is not easy -- I had intended to do that with my first book, but have yet to follow through.

I did like the new characters and their stories, but somehow they did not feel quite as fleshed out or sympathetic as the returning cast. Even so, this book made a delightful Chri...more

Season Of Hope by Virginia Carmichael was a VERY GOOD BOOK. Gavin volunteers at a Mission in his spare time. He works at a medical center. He is trying to get the word out for kids to get their shots. Journalist, Evie, also volunteers at the Mission. She helps Gavin get the word out. But....Evie has a past, that has to do with Gavin's sister. Was a good message there about kids getting their shots. Enjoyed the book.

I really liked the plot of the story, the parts where God's grace is sufficient and erases all sins and pasts is amazing. I highly recommend it to anyone.

Funny. The blurb isn't quite what the book is about. But what do I know? I'm just the author, hahaha!

Virginia was born near the Rocky Mountains and although she has traveled around the world, the wilds of Colorado run in her veins. A big fan of the wide open sky and all four seasons, she believes in embracing the small moments of everyday life. A home schooling mom of six young children who rarely wear shoes, those moments usually involve a lot of noise, a lot of mess, or a whole bunch of warm co...more
