Dropping by the local comic shop these days, it's easy to criticize the work currently being done as "not quite up to par with the good old days when I was reading."

That is, of course, until you get hold of a run of comics from your "good old days" and you realize that those comics weren't exactly setting the world on fire either.

That's pretty much the case with this collection of eight issues from the early '80's run of The Amazing Spider-Man. I had a few scattered issues from the various Spi

A pretty good collection here, from the early 80's. The Tarantula story is the best one. There are two 'One shot' stories after that. The last one is really all about the then new Captain Marvel(Monica Rambeau--Who looks GREAT, by the way!!!),. Overall, not great, but not bad.

Spiderman is helping find something wrong about the Brand Corporation. Brand hire Tarantula to silence the informers. Things go wrong when Brand decides to improve Tarantula. This is a fun book with lots of fights. Spiderman fighting a spider was clever. There's also some nice character moments where Spiderman tries to stop Willo the wisp getting revenge. A good read.

A consecutive collection of classic Spidey tales. Like Nothing Can Stop The Juggernaut, the preceding collection, this is an enjoyable selection of tales, but none that are particularly memorable or overly special. The Brand/Tarantula/Will O'The Wisp story is quite good, and Captain Marvel's annual is great, but most of this is just typical classic stuff.

Chocked full of 80s heroes and villains that not a lot of people will know. Kind of lackluster.
