I enjoyed the easy pace; the detailed descriptions of yoga practice and delicious food preparation. Interestingly much of the book brought me back to a time many years ago and had me reflect upon paths chosen, opportunities taken and some that were missed. Almost felt I knew some of the characters the author painted. Catch this rising star and his first novel.

Very interesting and entertaining book. Robert weaves the development of characters with a detailed understanding of yoga practices.

I much prefer to learn information through stories and 'The Swami Deheftner' kept me engaged and intrigued. The novel ...more

I highly recommend this novel. I found it to be an engaging story with characters so vivid, I miss them. I learned about yoga, Houdini and other topics related to personal evolution. I look forward to Goldstein's next book.
