Marguerite Mooers Marshall was born on 9 September 1887 in Kington, New Hampshire, USA. She was the daughter of Lela Mooers (Brown) and Herbert Walter Marshall. She obtained a A.B. from Tufts University in 1907. On June 3, 1916 she married Sidney Walter Dean. She was columnist for two New York dailies from 1922 to 1945.
