This was a very interesting book that was extremely personal (from the author's life). It was well-written and thorough. I definitely appreciated the first part of the book. The second part was a little pedantic with specific details of family members that made it hard for me to relate to. However, the first part really touched me. I was surprised at what I learned and how connected I felt while reading it, even though it is not told in a standard fiction narrative. I would have liked more of a ...more
