I love Suzie Grant's books. She always writes a strong heroine, women who know their own minds and aren't afraid to fight for what they love. She doesn't disappoint in this book, but once again delivers a kick-ass woman. Her name is Blaze. She's got a very cloudy past, refuses to wear dresses, can herd cattle and shoot, and mouths off when the situation calls for it.

But she's the only female in the story. There isn't another woman at all, except for a...what do ya call it...a woman who runs a bo

I do not review e-books. The idea of reading without holding the book in my hands and the action of turning pages just doesn't hold any interest for me. Before I decided on this policy, however, I agreed to read and review 'The Devil's Daughter. You guessed it - it's an ebook.

Testament to the story and writing style of author, Suzie Grant, I cuddled up on the couch and read this lovely novel in one sitting on my laptop. Not only did I read it in one sitting but I got so lost in the story that I

I loved this book! It was a great Historical Fiction Western Romance. The vivid scenes that Suzie Grant brings to mind with her beautiful descriptions of Texas, when it was still mostly ranch land, are amazing. I loved Blaze’s character as well. She was hard on the outside, but as a reader you were able to ascertain that beneath her hard exterior she is a lost soul. I was surprised when I realized she was only 19, because she seems so much older. When you continue to read you discover the reason ...more

An intricate story line, captivating characters, and an interesting mix of suspense and action. Blaze has a complicated past, a woman's who has been forced into a life she didn't choose and shunned by a society who's shown little compassion. I was very drawn to this character and her dark world, labeled because she was different, outcasted because of her stregth. Whatever the outside world saw, Blaze was afraid, a little girl trapped in a past she couldn't outrun. Gade was a man who sought only ...more

This isn't the sort of historical fiction I usually read but boy, am I glad I gave it a go. Loved it. Loved the characters, the story and the setting were just super.

Both leads were strong, intelligent people, both try hard to fight their attraction. The rest of the characters were really good too. Great story in a universe that I am hoping to return to. I see book two with Garrett's story is coming but I do hope that Warren gets his happy ending too...

Edited to say: Totally forgot to mention t

The historical romance series Devil Ryder begins with The Devil’s Daughter and continues in

The Devil’s Defiance.

In The Devil’s Daughter, Blaze Marie Austin is an outlaw with a past. She is working on the

Broken Circle, the ranch owned by James Ryder and his sons. The relationship between Ryder

and his sons is strained at best, but Blaze feels that she owes James her life and stays on, hiding

her past and trying to help him catch the rustlers that are plaguing his cattle herds. Warren, the

Who can resist a western romance? Well the answer to that is me, I can. I feel that the whole western theme has been sadly over done with men riding in to save the wilted damsel in the midst of the steamy desert heat…that being said, this book has changed my mind at least when it comes to westerns from this author.

This is the first time I have read this author and trust me it will not be the last. From the very beginning she had me relating to and falling in love w

I was introduced to Suzie through some of my other Authors and decided to give her a chance and I am glad I did. This book was great! It was full of heart break, romance and heroics. They were such a great duo and the supporting characters were awesome! Blaze was such and amazing character! She was full of live and stubborn as a bull but she was such a softy on the inside. I loved reading more about her and getting to know her better. She is a strong woman and a person to have your back. Gade ...more

I read this in Timeless Quills Timeless collection. At first I didn't think was going to like this story but the characters ended up capturing my heart. The story was complex enough to keep me interested without being so complicated that if I was interrupted that I would be confused. The characters had so many facets that they feel real. I truly enjoyed this little adventure and I think I will look for more by this author.
