This book has been on my shelves a long time. I recently re-read it, and enjoyed it again. The heroine is a small-town Texas girl who was desperate to escape and make news in the Big City. Literally--she wants to be a TV news producer. She's been working her way up through smaller markets and assistant jobs, and has finally made it to a cable network position in NYC. I loved this book and re-read it already several times - Holly and Cal Griffin - Leaving her unhappy childhood in Texas behind, TV producer Holly Hicks lands in New York and is given a shot to produce a spot about injured Secret Service Agent Cal Girffin.
