Reads like a college paper that would have gotten a B, at best. Folks with lupus are probably better off reading one of the books that are available for sale on the Lupus Foundation of America website (which I assume means the organization is endorsing them). Many of them are probably available at your local library. Right now I have out Coping with Lupus, 4th Edition and The Lupus Book: A Guide for Patients and Their Families, which I think will be more reliable and helpful resources. I want to ...more
As the author has Lupus, I felt she knew of what she wrote. I especially liked the section that described what the meds we need take out of our bodies. I would like to see more recipes, and am looking for something like that especially for people on Coumadin. Am waiting for the other books in this series.
I stopped after Chapter 3, then flipped through the rest of the book. Based on the Introduction, Jenn Schoch seems like a pretty interesting and upbeat person, especially considering all that she's been through, but I wasn't getting much of anything out of the book.
