This book is about four very intelligent girls competing in a quiz bowl team named the Martha Washington Jewels. In previous books the Jewels were hunting for the Martha Washington treasure. In order to do so they had to find four jewels each with a clue on the back. But while the are trying to find clues they are also trying to find a way to beat another team in the quiz bowl the Atkinson Prep Rivals. I am giving this book a 3.5 only because it actually had a decent twist in the plot. Readers of the first 3 books will be happy about the storyline in this one. And as in the last book, I did find that I liked the last 2 books better than the first two. But again, that could be because I had already vested interest by reading the first two books.

I would say third and fourth graders would enjoy this series and maybe some fifth graders with a lower reading level. Older elementary readers may appr
