Small-town heiress, Arden Butler, is as pragmatic and rational as they come. Until the worst snowstorm in Missouri history throws a wrench in the well-laid machinery of her life’s plans. That wrench comes in the form of her rescuer, hunky, flirtatious mechanic, Travis Lanier.

Travis, a live-in-the-moment, romantic-at-heart kind of guy, isn’t too interested in the spoiled,

The characters were what lead to the two star rating, I just couldn't get past there behavior. One minute you think they are this type of person the next someone else is taking their place on the page. Some times I just wanted to put the book down because their pathetic or completely selfish reactions to events turned my stomach. I mean who doesn't phone in a stolen vehicle when their druggy ex wife steals it and why would you ever have to buy it back from the person she sold it to? I mean it ...more

There's a lot of what I think is sexual frustration between Travis and Arden or they just totally hate each other, "that's just it, Arden. I'm not a strange man. You and me have lived in this tiny hick town all our lives. We go to the same church, for Christ's sake. We're even friends with some of the same people... although certainly not at the same time. All I'm saying is, drop the kidnapped princess act and let's be like normal people for tonight. Okay?" Travis is also a sensitive guy with ...more

The men in this story made it worth reading. The females however annoyed me a bit, well maybe a lot...

It was actually a cute read though and had a few funny moments, especially the part where Arden had verbal diarrhea and just blurted out stuff about Travis infront of her family.

I would definitely recommend this book just because of sweet, emotional and troubled Travis and his brother Dustin.

Contemporary small town romance between a rich young lady and a damaged mechanic that only know each other from church and rumours from growing up in the same town.
Arden Butler comes from a banker family and is very much a princess, but she does have a group of great girl-friends to keep her grounded, her biggest problem is her fiance, Nick who is a bad person but she doesn't want to see it.
Travis Lanier is the damaged mechanic who takes care of everyone around him. His biggest problem is that h

This book was...I do not even know what this book was. I liked the description but the characters were horrible. Travis was delicious and sweet. The girls in the book were just sucky. Emma was a royal bitch and I hated everything about her. She was clueless, spoiled, stuck up, and generally just horrible. It bothered me that Travis liked her and fell in love with her in the span of four days. He persued her even though she was really demeaning towards him. She also seemed absolutely clueless ...more

I am so glad I found this book! It was one of those stories that kept me up late because I got wrapped up in the characters. The book is very well-written and edited, and I am impressed that it is the author's debut novel.

The characters were real (thank god). There was no trying to sugarcoat Arden's behavior. That's important to the story because we get to watch her transform from cold and practical to fun and loving. The scene where this change is most evident (toward the end, I won't spoil) ha

There's a lot going on in this book, and the author gets points for juggling several different romances. She also gets points for characters who have realistic flaws, who do spectacularly stupid things and then regret them, and who try to make up for doing those stupid things. However, there's almost too much going on in the book, which makes it something of a whiplash read at times.

Ashby did a great job sucking me into small town life with 3 brothers from the poor side of town whose home life was far from stellar. Travis is the main brother in the story. He is super hot, a giant flirt, and has picked himself up from the bottom to become a respectable part of the community with a heart of gold. His interest is Arden who is engaged to another man when they are thrown together in a snow storm. Travis makes it clear that he's fallen for her and thinks he's the man for her, not ...more

So Worth a Chance!

I really enjoyed this story! And I'm still excited that I really enjoyed this story! I was looking for a light-hearted read that had substance to it, but not too much depth that I felt overburdened by it and couldn't appreciate the humor. I found what I was looking for!

I didn't know how to take the story at first - rich girl needing to be saved by the guy from the other side of the tracks. Well, when "Miss Rich" decided to take matters into her own hands, I knew this was going

I don't understand why people gave this book five stars. I mean, seriously.

Not that I hate this book, it's just the author brought up so many events, from Arden & Travis stuck in a snow storm for days, Emma's love life, Tonya, Duane, and not to mention Arden's failing engagement.. It seems all over the place. Reading this book, I feel out of place and tired. I hope the author focused only for one matter and described it, not adding stories here and there.

I hate Arden. She's selfish and spo

I REALLY WAS SURPRISED WITH THIS BOOK, IT WAS DIFFERENT & CHEAP. THIS WAS NOT JUST A ORDINARY ROMANCE STORY, THE STORYLINE & CHARACTERS WERE GREAT. TRAVIS IS A ULTRA SEXY ALPHA MALE TO THE MAX BUT HE WAS UNBELIEVABLE, SUCH A GOOD, KIND GENTLE SOUL. HE WAS ALMOST TOO GOOD, HIS GOODNESS WAS BORDERLINE STUPID. I WISHED HE WASN'T SO NICE BECAUSE HE GOT HURT SO MANY TIMES, JUST BECAUSE HE GAVE SO MUCH TO OTHER PEOPLE WHO REALLY DIDN'T DESERVE IT. HE WAS A BEAUTIFUL PERSON, INSIDE AND OUT, I ...more

This was an Amazon freebie that I started a while back and read slowly. Mainly because I had it on my phone and not my reader.

I just was never able to put it down. So why only two stars, you may ask. Well, this story is sort of like watching a reality t.v. series about people living in a small, back water type town. You know it's going to be a train wreck but you can't get yourself to change the channel. There are several storylines going on. The main one with Arden and Travis isn't totally sati

I wanted to love this book - Arden, spoiled rich princess trapped with Travis, flirtatious, gorgeous working boy who's overcome a lot of obstacles in his life!!! Oh, the possibilities!!!

Arden just annoyed the living daylights out of me for over half of the book until she finally comes to terms with her feelings for her fiance and for Travis. And as much as I loved Travis, his need to protect everyone, even his ex-wife, pregnant with another man's child just got to be a bit more than I wanted to

After five days snowbound together, Arden and Travis find themselves forever changed. Returning to their regularly scheduled lives proves more difficult than either of them would have expected. When events ranging from troublesome to tragic interfere in Travis’s life, Arden is forced to choose. She can have the pristine future she has planned with her fiancé. Or she can embrace the messier, albeit more passionate, life with Travis. The result is a struggle to balance reason and romance, passion ...more

This is one of the strangest books I've ever read, and I'm baffled by the misleading cover (90% of the book takes place in a wintery Montana town...go figure). The characters have almost no consistency, and the arrangement of scenes and dialogue had me confused and bewildered until I was about 85% finished. And, suddenly, I didn't entirely hate it anymore, turning this into a 3 stars book - maybe.

Not horrible, but the story was supposed to be about Travis and Arden. Instead, it kept skipping around to lots of details about the extended friends. There should have been just a good character intro and maybe a hint of a future conflict for another book.

Maybe the story got better, but I just could not stand Arden. She was a b/tch and Travis was kinda creepy.
