Emelia Hudson has a bone to pick with CEO Drake Wilder. His company now claims to own the deed to her bar and despite her relentless effort to meet with him and explain the situation, she has been given the brush off one too many times. Changing tactics she gets hired as a temp in his company, but after two weeks she is still no closer to getting a face to face meeting and she is getting pissed.

When Drake stumbles onto Emelia at an office party, in an area she is not supposed to be in, Drake imm...more
Originality was rather lacking in the department of Gone with the Wolf. It felt like it fell into the typical cliche of Rich Man + Poor Woman + Angst over social and monetary value = Happily Ever After. Having said that, there still managed to be entertaining moments that I’ve labelled the “good bits” but there were quite a few “bad bits” to match those that damped my overall enjoyment of the book. Overall, it was rather forgettable too, which makes it harder to enjoy a book when nothing strikes...more
Gone with the Wolf, by Kristin Miller is the first novel in her new series, Seattle Wolf Pack. Free-spirited and brash bartender Emelia Hudson wants nothing more than to make her Seattle-based bar succeed. She has poured her heart, soul and bank account into it, thinking she was the owner of the building, but she was the victim of a scam. The building belonged to the mega corporation Wilder Financial, whose CEO is alpha werewolf Drake Wilder. With a plan in her head to force a confrontation with...more

I absolutely loved Gone With the Wolf by Kristin Miller, I was addicted from the very first chapter. The descriptions of Emelia and Drake’s first encounter we’re so good I couldn’t help but smile and keep reading. Everything about Emelia screams independence and determination and Miller kept her true to her character throughout the entire book, not making Emelia sacrifice some key element of herself in order to catch her boss’s attention gave the story some bonus points. Even though Drake Wilder...more

I got this book early for an honest review. First let me say that I love shifter books. It is one of my favorite in the paranormal genre, that and vampires. I also love erotic romances. This book fills both of those categories for me. I also need a HEA and I got that also. I LOVE this book!! Drake and Emie were just so HOT together. I also liked that Kristin let them build their feelings for each other before they actually had sex, meaning that it wasn't in the first couple of pages. But there w...more
I love paranormal romance specially if it's a werewolf genre. There is just something about the mate thingy and when they say "mine" that is so possessive for me.

Emelia is a great character, not your typical heroine in a werewolf genre. :) She's independent, feisty and full of sarcasm! She owns a bar called the Knight Owl She used all her savings to that place but now, CEO Drake claimed to have bought the building that her bar resides in. She couldn't let that happen. No matter how many letters...more

This book surprised me in a very good way. I was leery at first of this 'fated to be mated' plot, fearful that it would be like the many that have come before it. But it was unlike any of them. The chemistry between Emelia and Drake was fiery, tumultuous, and totally believable. Emelia's spunk has me cheering for her and Drake's tenderness had me swooning for him. The romance between them develops at a perfect, slow pace, despite their instant attraction. I'll be looking for more of this author'...more
Gone with the Wolf is the first in Kristin Miller's Seattle Wolf Pack paranormal romance series released by Entangled Publishing and the very first story I read from her.

Gone with the Wolf started out well, I loved the the chuckle out loud Halloween wine cellar scene where the air sizzled and cracked with the tension and attraction between the hero and heroine but somehow after that the story just fizzled out.

Gone with the Wolf was a quick and easy read, but it left me disappointed as I had sev...more

Drake Wilder has decided that he really does not care for his own party and goes to have a taste of wine in his own wine cellar and discovers a slightly tipsy Emelia tasting some of his best wine … and so begins one of the better Paranormal Romance stories I have read in awhile.

Emelia has some past issues with Drake (which he is totally unaware of) and she does not know who he is at that first meeting, it was great.
The book follows a bit of an unexpected path to get to a place where they can eve...more
I almost gave up reading this story 30 pages in since I was pretty bored. THANK GOD it picked up and turned into a story worth reading since I normally dig paranormal romances with werewolf shape-shifters and alpha male types of characters.

SO BASICALLY: After 300 years of existence, business mogul shape-shifter Drake Wilder has given up the search in finding his Luminary, his destined mate. Enter feisty human Emelia Hudson who works part time as a temp at his company while struggling to keep her...more
I thought this story started off really good with the couple in the cellar. I had expected some high flying sparks after that. Though they did have some sparks, I just didn't feel that attraction between them. I didn't connect with them or this story.

I felt the story had potential with the the direction the author was trying to take it in. However, I felt this one fell flat for me. I felt this book did more "telling" then "showing". I'm not normally one to be irritated by that yet this time, ho...more
Kristen Miller does a wonderful job introducing an entire new series in Gone with the Wolf.. as the launching pad for her Seattle Wolf Pack Series she offers us a great Alpha couple as well as tantalizing glimpses into the lives of some of the werewolves we may be meeting later on.. Great Job!

This book was given to me in exchange for an honest review

I don't really know where to go with this review... Gone with the Wolf started off really great, I was having a good time and then it just suddenly fell flat...

If you had asked me how I felt about this book when I had only read half of it, I would have told you it was fun, sexy and I was really loving it. But now that I've completed the book I can't really say that much for the second half. I also don't know if the same characters continu...more

I thoroughly enjoyed this book and read it in a day, letting the family go hungry!! Lol.

The characters are great and you can totally relate to them. I don't like spoilers so will just say that the book is about a handsome rich werewolf who has been searching for his soulmate for years, and comes across her by chance, and there starts the story of how to win her over, with lots of action, twists and turns.

Emelia is a strong woman who doesn't need a man in her life as they always let her down, an...more
Finally someone as spunky as Scarlet O’Hara! Emelia Hudson is full of feisty charm. Bless her little heart. From the first page, Emelia grabs your attention and keeps you spell bound. It’s easy to see why Drake Wilder would claim her as his own, the Luminary to his Alpha.

While Drake seeks to win Emelia’s heart, taking his time to reveal his true nature, his twin brother enters the tale. Silas realizes that Drake is about to fulfill the conditions of becoming the true Alpha of his father’s estate...more

A great beginning to Kristin Miller’s new Seattle Wolf Pack series! I enjoyed this book so much I wasn’t able to put it down until I’d finished it. Then after a short self pity session for having finished it I hopped on to her Goodreads page and added several of her previously written titles to my TBR list.

Emelia Hudson is determined to confront the man she holds responsible for underhandedly ripping ownership of her bar, the Knight Owl, seemi...more

Do you ever wonder if famous writers like Margaret Mitchell, who penned GONE WITH THE WIND, are rolling over in their graves when the classic nature of their book's title is adulterated for it's eye and ear catching nature? I do. It's not impossible, however, for me to imagine Emelia standing in her bar shouting to the heavens that no one in her bar will go thirsty again! And, I am no saint, for sure, when it comes to p...more
Emelia is a struggling bartender that is trying to save her bar from the corporation that says they own it. She gets a temp job there in hopes of running into the boss so she can clear up the mistake. Little does she know that it will turn her world upside down. Drake is the CEO of a successful company. He also happens to be a wolf looking for his mate so that he can have exclusive rights to rule over the pack his father left him his twin brother. His mate comes where he least expects it!

Emelia Hudson obtained her tavern the Knight Owl through true blood, sweat and tears.....and she'll be damned if the likes of Wilder Financial and it's control hungry owner Russell D Wilder will take it right out from under her.

Emelia Hudson is angry; really, really angry. After working her fingers to the bone to buy her bar from the lease-holder, she is notified that it's, in fact, been bought by a giant corporation. When calls and emails get no response, desperately needing money, she takes a job at Wilder Financial in hopes of resolving the situation.

Drake Wilder is a werewolf who has given up on finding his Luminary, the soul-mate that will assure his ascension to Alpha of his pack, a position his twin desperately...more
This is a fun, quick, and well written read. It was a bit predictable in places, such as when Drake’s brother Silas enters the story. I liked the challenge Silas brought to the story and the fact that it was resolved pretty fast with no over the top angst.

Drake is a centuries old alpha who is set in his ways and knows what’s best, especially for Emelia. I like Drake, he’s all alpha, hot, and it was fun to watch Emelia twist his tail. This has the “He’s rich, she’s not and he’s a shifter, she’s...more
Take one Alpha male werewolf toss in a free-spirited bartender mix in some attraction and chemistry add a side of disgruntled sibling and you have one great story with Gone with the Wolf.

Drake is hot, sexy and smart but he has this thing about control. Emelia is the perfect blend of spunk, independence and softness. I think it's great how Emelia stands up to him about what is important to her...no swooning heroine here. Also important is how Drake doesn't treat her like a mindless female. Despit...more
