Few American women are as ripe for adventure as Gigi Orsini in the booming, optimistic year of 1983. In her mid-twenties, Gigi is an original: as amusingly naughty as she is romantic, as personally courageous as she is sexually alluring.

A talented copywriter, Gigi has just accepted a job at a Los Angeles advertising agency where she is teamed with a tenderly seductive art

Lovers is hopefully the last in the Scruples series with the novel centered on Gigi Orsini, who according to the blurb is "that high-spirited, ingenious, red-headed enchantress who grew to womanhood in Scruples 2." Which sets the tone for the book where the effervescent Gigi who has the potential to be immensely irritating in her seductive perfection, but just barely stops at the threshold of pain. I didn't get into this book as much as i usually do a Judith Krantz book, I didn't feel the connection with the characters like I usually do. But still a good book.
Shawn
Didn't like it at all which is disappointing bc I was excited to revisit the characters.

This is the junk food of literature. I don't mind the odd drive-thru book but even then I would expect the characters to be likeable or unlikeable whatever the case may be,but Krantz gives me neither. The characters also never get to fully develop. Krantz will throw in a quirk like "she has ticklish ears" as an afterthought and it just comes out lame. Don't think I'll be reading another Krantz book.

Not one of my favorite Judith Krantz novels. It follows the same characters as in Scruples and Scruples 2, which are two of her best books, but this book is pretty weak. The main character is too Mary Sue-ish and some of the couples are even more ridiculous than usual. The scenes set in Venice are fun, though.

It had been awhile since I've read Scruples and Scruples 2. This is Gigi's story, and maybe I just need to reread the other two. Found it very frustrating.

They are losing steam. . .quit while you are ahead, Judith Krantz (who I think, at this point, is inching towards 90).
Sandy Menke
Does not stir the mind, but does stir something else. A brainless read, but okay if it serves your need!
Manuela
Intenso, passionale e forte, come la maggior parte dei romanzi della Krantz.

Laura-Jane Barber
Enjoyable as a Judith Krantz novel but not my fave.
