Sigh...I'm throwing the proverbial noose over my neck with even a three star rating of this book. (I was even tempted to give it a four star...let me tell you why)

Prose? Non-exsistant. Plot? Follows the correct sequence...but really let me get to my point: James Patterson is the grown-up version of Nancy Drew for crying out loud.

It's not going to intellectually better you, it's not going to be mentioned in conversation with Harvaaaaahd literature majors, and it's not going to win you any...more

This was the best Patterson book I’ve read in a while. The story was interesting and suspenseful and flowed well (which is something missing from some other Patterson books I’ve read recently). I really enjoyed this.

However, I listened to the audiobook, which I have to admit heightened my amusement. It had background music! And sound effects! When the “bow-chicka-bow-wow”-like music started during a love scene, I almost drove off the road.

James Patterson books are so quick to read. I love that none of his chapters are longer than 3-4 pages. This one seems pretty standard fare for him. A single mother is called to serve on the jury during the trial of a mob boss. The mafia guy gets revenge against the jury and changes the mom's life forever. She ends up working with the FBI guy on the case to finally see the mafia don brought to some sort of justice - legal or not.

This one turned out to truly be a roller coaster ride. It starts off when the mobster don Dominic Cavello is being hunted down by the FBI. In the process, he finds himself on the run and kills to agents. It doesn't prevent him from being arrested by Nick Pellisante, the agent in charge. Nick is crushed by the loss of his agents and is willing to do whatever it takes to bring Cavello down, including testifying against Cavello.

Andie Echeverra ends up being on the jury even though she originall...more

I'm a James Patterson fan. The guy knows how to write books that I can read really quick and keep me intrigued for most of them. Lately it seems like he has trouble writing by himself (I guess he's too busy watching movies and writing pretty crappy one-sentence reviews on his website....check those out for a good laugh) and I think it's hurting him and his reputation as a writer.

Judge & Jury is a quick read about an FBI agent and a juror who go on the path of a mafioso who killed the j...more

Dominic Cavello, a man known as “Electrician” who is linked to several mafia murders, is a threatening member of the court in James Patterson’s novel, Judge and Jury. The novel is based around Cavello’s trial in which he is suspected of leading several murders for random reasons. In several scenes, you read that Cavello threatens the jury and the judge and has other mafia members help him outside the court.
Andie Degrasse, one of the original jury members, struggles to get her life...more

I'm so ashamed but I did read this book. I was running through the airport and it was on the bargain table. I really liked it. It's great for a four hour flight. Patterson can really hatch a plot. He hatches them and then other people flesh them out. He lives in Palm Beach in an estate on the ocean. He knows it's not great literature but he's laughning all the way to the bank.

This is the first I've read of this author. I actually picked this one up at the library, thinking it was by a different author. I can't say I understand the "co-author" aspect. Doesn't James Patterson have enough talent that he could put out a decent book by himself? Enjoyable, but a little unnerving that any given chapter is no more than three pages or so.

However, I did appreciate that the author allowed the bad guys to be really, REALLY bad, and do hideous things - so we h...more

I find James Patterson's novels quite interesting as it usually delve on court trials to which I am really interested.

His novel Judge and the Jury is advisable to read because it so easy to comprehend, you really cannot stop yourself leafing each page of your book when you began reading the nerve-wracking and unnerving scenes as you go along.

This novel talk about an FBI senior agent named Nick Pellisante who, despite his separation from the Bureau never stopped in his struggle to bring...more

What I needed was a way to keep me lying down, pressure on the ice-pack I had positioned in just the right spot on my lower back. And this was just the book to keep me in my spot.

Beyond a judge and members of a jury, author James Patterson throws the mob, Russians, Israel and a number of innocent children in the mix with a chemical attraction between FBI agent and juror, and comes up with a story that did the job of keeping me interested in what would happen next.

While not high literatur...more

I went through a bit of a James Patterson kick for a while back in the day so please excuse the sheer amount of his books that I've read.

I think anyone who has read his books will agree they are not difficult or challenging BUT they are entertaining and full of suspense and keep you turning pages. I've enjoyed every one of his books that ...more

I very musch enjoyed this book and the short chapters make it easy to fly through. The downside was that I was able to predict the ending a good 50 pages away and it wasn't all that realistic, but still entertaining to read.

Typical Patterson in that I'm up to p.177 and I only started it this afternoon.

Finished this this afternoon just before leaving for dinner. At 24 hours that's about par for a Patterson book.

I liked it, though I was a bit surprised by the ending. Felt as if he was creating a division where there didn't need to be. Liked Pellisante - and his nickname by virtue of his name ending in a vowel ;) I thought the characters were well-written but as is the case with many non Cross books, I found m...more

Good. Standard James Patterson mystery novel. The plot is perhaps a little less interesting than is his usual and the love story is awful, but still entertaining overall.

Very quick easy read on the train. Twists and turns like most of Patterson books - I would recommend it for a mindless read. You learn what a mother would do for her child.

Another typical scary, hard-to-put-down, Patterson novel. This one will make you dread ever being named to a high-profile jury case. Quick read and worth picking up.

I recently finished listening to James Patterson's Judge and Jury (book on CD). It's one of his newer releases and is not part of any series (Alex Cross, nor the Women's Murder Club). Though, I think I prefer the series better - this was definitely a good read and I'd recommend it. It revolves around crime and law, as do most of his books. This one, however, also has a Mafia based storyline. Books on CD are such a great way to pass the time during my obnoxious commute (given that driving and rea...more

bukan tentang Dr. Cross, bukan ceritanya cewe2 dari "the Midnight Club" and bukan juga ceritanya "Max dkk", it's nice to have another character in J. Patterson's book

kalo g bilang awalnya kayak baca "Runaway Jury"-nya J. Grisham digabung sama "Godfather"-nya M. Puzo, tapi tetep dengan gayanya J. Patterson yg setiap chapternya max cuma 3 halaman.

di chapter 28, hal 89 ada contoh surat putus yang bagus, dimulai dengan kalimat.. "this is the harde...more
