Look, I know it may be difficult to take me seriously because I've given the Kris Jenner book 4 stars, but hear me out. It's good. I mean come on - Kris admits to cheating on Robert Kardashian in a scandalous affair with some loser AND gives us intimate details on the whole Nicole Brown Simpson murder!! She even tells us wether or not she thinks O.J. is guilty. In fact, I was shocked that such a huge chunk of this book was about that case and so little was written about Kris' now famous family....more

Wealthy Kardashian leaves in the swanky Beverly Hills and introduces Kris to a life she did not know before. They start a family. Which is where the foundation of the story begins.

There’s a lot touched upon this book—Kris’s infidelity to Robert with a young twenty something, the disintegration of their marriage and Kris’s re-marriage to Olympic champion Bruce Jenner, their friendship with Nicole Brown and O.J. Simpson, Robert Kardashian’s inclusion in the legal defense team of O.J. Simpson, as well as the family’s accidental foray into reality-television which created a brand for them out-of-thin air.

Even if you’re not a fan of the limelight surrounding the Kardashians, and frankly I never watched their show, this book is an interesting look at Kris, a business-savvy woman who uses what she has to become incredibly rich. While many stop at simply marrying rich, Kris goes one step further. She acts as a manager for her own daughters, and at one point describes resurrecting Bruce Jenner’s career as a public speaker by creating media kits for him. After her family becomes famous because of the reality shows, she talks about supplementing the income with a nutritional supplement business, skin care line, clothing line, spin-off shows, etc. At one point, she writes “How can I take these fifteen minutes of fame and turn them into thirty? How can I get paid to do what I love?” And perhaps this is the main lesson of the book.(less)

I wanted a quick summer read and although I'm not a big fan of the Kardashian's I thought I would see if Kris could convince me they are something special. However from page one I had issues with this book:

1. Horribly written- it read very choppy. She needed to take a writing class before writing this book and her editor should have told her the writing was weak and needed work.

I picked this one up from the library this week, and stayed up and read it all in one go, in a couple of hours. Because of only having poor peoples tv, I have only managed to see a few of the shows, when house sitting and watching a Keeping up with the Kardashians marathon. You can't avoid them though, that whole Kardashians are everywhere, magazines, TV and papers.

This was our second book club pick and it made for a ridiculous book club party. I enjoyed reading about Kris's past and her affairs and how she came to meet Robert Kardashian. The biggest chunk of the book focuses on Nicole Brown Simpson and the OJ trial and how it affected her relationship with Robert and her children. All in all I really learned alot from reading this book. Kris covered her life's "defining moments" in pretty good detail up until most recently. It was interesting to learn that when she was younger she could have had her leg amputated. Luckily she didn't have to. When she divorced from Robert Kardashian she took nothing from him. She learned business skills very early on from her grandmother and mother.

I have a love/hate anything Kardashian philosophy. I try to keep up with what's going on in the entertainment world because you never know when I might be on a trivia show and a Kardashian question might come up.

I really enjoyed this book, to a point. I am fascinated by the Kardashians (and my husband think's it's an irrational obsession), so I picked up the book. Kris is a decent writer and I was truly sucked in to learn about her upbringing and how she came to marry Robert Kardashian. It was a great story.

Judge away, but this shit was $3.99 at TJ Maxx and I'm a sucker for a cheap book. She's pretty shameless but whatever she's doing is working, whatever she's selling people are buying and I've been known to get dragged into an ep or two of Keeping up with the Kardashians.

I picked this one up after hearing about it on the premiere episode of "Keeping Up With The Kardashians" (yes, I watch that show, and I enjoy it) and hearing about some affair that Kris Jenner had. I was so excited to get this book for review. I do not watch a lot of reality television but I do watch all the Kardashian shows. I find them to be a nice “escape” for me and one of my “guilty pleasures”, even with all Kim’s drama happening now with her divorce, but that’s a topic for another day. It is just sad that it may have taken away from Kris’s big launch of this very entertaining and enlightening book.

This book is 98% about Kris Jenner’s life before the Kardashian family entered the television spotlight with their shows. I knew her first husband was part of O.J. Simpson’s “Dream Team” but never realized the friendship between Kris and Nicole Simpson. Kris gives us the inside view of that friendship and the trial and unique way it touched her whole family, including her now husband Bruce Jenner.

A lot of people say the Kardashian’s are famous for being famous and that may be true. Kris Jenner is the force behind this family and she took what she had to work with and has basically turned it to “gold” for this entire family. You cannot argue her work ethic, she is a successful business woman and has passed her drive onto her children. Mistakes were made in her life but she kept going. The book is a testament to perseverance. This book is written with the same mantra as the show, she tells us the good and the bad, the triumphs and the pitfalls.

She did gloss over a few things in the book that I felt should have been addressed but then I realized they weren’t part of her story. Let Kim talk about her trials and tribulations in her own book someday. The same with the Scott Disick drama, that is for Kourtney to talk about in her own time.

I truly enjoyed this well written memoir. If you are a fan of the Kardashians you will like it too.(less)

This book is the first selection for "Ridiculous Book Club" my friends and I started. Kris did not disappoint!

Kris tells us how fun everything in her life is, about all her fabulous clothes, her stoopid affair, and most importantly how she had the balls and confidence to rise from a teen bride into a business mogul.

The book is a quick read, surprisingly informational, and whisks you into a dreamy (idealized) California wonderland.

I read this book in one day. It really held my attention. I am the same age as Kris and could relate to her life. I know she is a controversial character, but I have respect for the life she has put together.

She has accomplished quite a lot with all the companies she has including several successful TV shows. She has a connection with her inner self and God that leads her in the right direction and I believe that is one of the reasons she is so successful.

This memoir really wasn't what I had originally expected from Kris Jenner; I am pleasantly surprised.

Although Kris speaks a lot of being blessed and following her dreams, she always had the means financially to pursue these dreams. This definitely isn't a tale of rags to riches, but the chapters about Kris & Robert Kardashians close relationship with O.J. Simpson & Nicole Brown was particularly interesting.

This was an incredibly fast read. Despite what other reviews on amazon, I really liked this book. You get to know Kris from the very beginning when she was a youngster in San Diego (Point Loma area) before she met Robert Kardashian.
