3.5 Stars...(.5 for the RIDICULOUSLY beautiful "golden boy" on the cover...*swoon*)

This book was sweet, had a tiny bit of action, and played out much as you would expect...predictable, I guess I'd say.

Still, it was really entertaining and a nice, easy read. This would be the PERFECT book for someone who has never read M/M romance but is curious. Lovely, blossoming relationship between Matt & K...more

To be honest, about the first 3/4 part of the book, this book is just okay for me. The main narrator (Matthew Elliott, the detective) and his boyfriend (Kira Takeo Franco, half Spanish-half Japanese and a fantastic trainer) are likeable protagonists. They sure grinned/laughed/smiled/blushed/chuckled a lot -- so I assume they have wonderful time together and have lovely conversations (though some of those conversations are not written in details, I just have to trust they are)...more

This is the new and extended version of the book that I read last year...can I spot any differences, we'll see……and yes Nic Walker is an auto-buy. Well, I'm afraid I couldn't spot any differences...might have something to do with insomnia and fewer brain cells (just like Nic unfortunately...the insomnia, NOT the fewer brain cells!!) although there are an extra 9,000 words apparently!! 5 stars and

Matt has been a cop for a decade and in the closet just as long, he is part of the Fab Four a team of cops in narcotics.
He is afraid of losing his job and friends if he comes out, but when he meets Kira ' Frankie ' his gym's new boxing trainer he can't keep his self imposed rule of keeping private and professional life separate.
Kira is in the closet as well, being a trainer at a cop's gym doesn't lend itself to being out and proud.
Their relationship develops quickly but it doesn't feel rushed an...more

Well written and tightly paced romance with a very appealing couple. Matthew is a top LA detective who keeps his preference for men under wraps. He meets new trainer Frankie (Kira) at the work gym and sparks fly.
There's great chemistry between Matt and Kira and the growth of their relationship is believable. Matt is part of a top team of narcotics detectives and their camaraderie is a big theme in the book. The tension in the story comes from a sadistic crime boss who has organised some nasty p...more

Well, hell, I was not expecting the INTENSITY.

When I think of Walker, I think of mild emotional angst in a mostly feel-good story.

And this book was that...until it wasn't.

I love Matt and Kira. Their love felt so raw and real. The feels and heart-wrenching I love yous UNDID me.

I want these MCs happy, but I just read the blurb for book 2, and it looks like more angst is in store for them.

But I make your heart beast funny? You get butterflies when you think of me? Do you think of me a

This fantastic M/M book has officially turned my "top 10" book list into a "Fuck yeah 5+ stars" list. I can't keep it to 10 anymore! This one is added because I FUCKING LOVED IT! I did not want it to end. Matt and Kira were the sweetest couple, totally believable and I instantly feel in love with them. The sex scenes were hot without losing the romance and the angst was off-the-charts. The ending had me in tears of joy. There was absolutely nothing I did not like about this book. I have already...more

Meet Matthew Elliot one of LA’s best narcotics detectives. He’s smart, tough and exceptionally good at his job. He's also a closeted gay man.

Enter Kira Takeo Franco, the new boxing coach at the gym. Matthew can't deny his immediate attraction to the man his fellow cops know as Frankie.

I loved their story in this book! I loved their attraction and sparring sessions. I liked that their love story was not angsty, but sweet. I specially liked that Kira's father turned out...more
Hot cop + N.R. Walker + the inspiration for Kira is Marlon Tiexiera = no-brainer must read!

This was a quick read with a lovely romance/(light) mystery. The MC's are closeted LAPD cop Matt and fitness trainer Kira, who is in the closet as far as work goes, and works at a gym where Matt and many of the cops he works with are members. The attraction between the two is instant and after a night of drinks with his co-workers, Matt lets slip to Kira that he is interested but closeted. Since they are b...more

This was exactly what I wanted to read tonight. Matt is a narcotics cop and Kira is a trainer at the gym the cops go to work out. It's lust at first sight when they meet and because of their jobs they're both in the closet and decide to see each other on the down low.

This was just a lovely, sweet romance as Matt and Kira build their relationship. I liked these men and I liked how their story played out. They're very well suited to each other and there were a few bumps in the road along the w...more
Loved it enough that I turned around and read it second time. Matt's great, but Kira is badass.
Another lovely book from N.R.Walker!

Matt is a LA cop and Kira his boxing instructor. They fell in love, but they are both closet cases. They develop a beautiful relationship and are so good together!

There is some mystery, not very difficult to figure out, and the plot is very interesting!

So, we have a lovely, sweet and beautiful story! Loved it and I'm glad that I can read more of Matt and Kira! And here I go to Breaking Point

! I loved everything about this book! Matt and Kira were so fucking sweet! Both were closeted manly-men so there was a little bit of angst over the "coming-out" issues; but nothing too heavy. Also, there was a little action/mystery storyline that was a bit too predictable and lead to a very traumatic scene near the end that had me biting my nails and screaming at my Kindle!

Overall, this was a sweet, sexy romance.

5 stars from me because I totally cried my eyes out in the end.

This is a smooth, fast-reading take on the closeted cop coming out in a crisis. Matthew is a prominent member of a detective team; Kira is a trainer in the gym frequented by the officers, and both are initially in the closet. The characters are well done, particularly Kira's parents. The build of emotion is believable, and there are some nice tender moments. The climax is unexpected in its details, avoiding the usual cliche of officer-in-danger. Some of the details felt like a bit of a stretch....more

I'm not going to bother with a review, because I know I won't do a good job at it, and it surely deserve a great review.
So, I just going to say Perfection from page one!!!
I LOVED this so freaking much! Definitely one of the best m/m books I've read recently. Couldn't put it down. Even for a moment.

A drop-dead gorgeous cop, a sexy boxing coach, hot sex scenes AND a lot of romance. What's there not to love? Not enough for you? How about a great plot, bad guys and an explosive and brilliant ending? Definitely not a book one can easily forget.

I do hope we'll get to see more of this couple. I loved these guys so damn much!

This book is an absolute MUST READ for reade...more
Not for me. The editing was simply too poor for me to concentrate on the somewhat flimsy plot.

The first half of the book is awful--nauseatingly sweet and littered with passive voice, typos and amateurish grammatical mistakes.

The book is set in LA, but not written in American English. WTF? School boy error.

The climax is a little more inspired and saved this from being a DNF, but it still wasn't quite enough to save the day.

Thank God it was free.
Very good m/m romantic suspense about a closeted cop who's attracted to the new boxing coach at the gym, who turns out to be equally closeted. How handy! :) As they become closer, will they be able to survive the dangers involved in a cop's job? I'll definitely look for more from this author in the future.

Someone said this was too sweet~I thought okay~

I'm on it!

Cuz, I love sweets~

Ooooh Sweet Heaven~they were right, this was Yummy!

Amazing! I'm not articulate enough to describe how much I loved this book. It has everything you'd want in a book. There is drama, mystery, suspense, humor, sweetness and LOVE! Once I started I couldn't stop. Took me twice and long to read as it should have because I was so full of tears, mostly good. ;)

There is nothing I like more in male romance then two manly men. That's exactly what I got here and yet the two men couldn't be different. First we meet Matt, the story is told through his eyes....more
4.5 stars The first part of this book was good, you get to see the build up and development of the relationship of Matt and Kira, you meet the other detectives, and Kira's family, all likeable characters. The story has the feeling of a happy little romance story that is all nice and rosy and wasn't real sure if I was going to really enjoy the same thing through the rest of the book. I would say that towards the last 1/4 of the book that was when everything changed and things started happening and...more
I came across this completely by accident when I was browsing through Silver Publishing's website. I glanced at the blurb, saw that it involved a detective and a boxing coach, and that was pretty much all I needed to know. I downloaded it straight away. That sounds really shallow and impulsive, but I don't regret it for a second.

Point of No Return was absolutely amazing and EXACTLY the kind of story that I love. It was cute, sweet, fun, and the last third of the book had me on the edge of my sea...more
If this was going on only the characters' relationship, this would be 5+ stars. There was a build-up, banter, sexiness, and a lot of gah-don't-make-me-cry moments. But the mystery/suspense aspect imo was really average and not very thrilling. I'd have preferred that aspect to either have been missing completely or really amped up. Still Kira and Matt really are such a fantastic couple, and Kira goes on my 'fictional husbands' shelf.
BEAUTIFUL, BEAUTIFUL, BEAUTIFUL!! It was worth every second spend on reading this book. Gosh, I've definitely got a tear in my eye when they said "I Love You" for the first time at the cabin, but I all out cried the whole of the last 4 chapters! It actually felt like my heart stopped beating along with his when he saw Kira on that screen...

As I said; beautiful story...just went on my fav list :))
Awesome... loved... angst...a real relationship that takes time to evolve into the I Love You's... lovely writing... 4.75/5 and a recommended read for anyone that likes an emotional read....

0.25 off for my freaky writer brain knowing stuff and the gay reveal... is all i am going to say...

I will so be getting NR's other books...
4.5 stars

This is only my second N.R. Walker book, but I adored it almost has much as the first. This is what I'm looking for in a romance novel. I don't need the story I'm reading to be one of the best books ever written, or to have won the Pulitzer Prize, or change my life. (I do read romances after all, lol :)). I just need the author to really convince me that two people have fallen in love. I want to read about the process, the MCs thoughts and emotions. Unfortunely, most books I pick up are...more

N.R. Walker is a refreshing breath of fresh air. I really enjoyed this book. The characters were well-written, robust, and (can you believe it?) mature. The story was riveting and I read through it in one sitting. I loved both Matt and Kira, but especially Kira. I adore families and Kira's family was no exception. Their warmth and inclusiveness was a welcome element that added exponentially to the story.

On the other hand, NRW didn't pull her punches at the end. The scene with the bad gu...more

Recommends it for: M/M romance, Thriller, Cops, strong male leads
Well, now, that was an electrifying (albeit rather short) story. I fell hard for both main characters, and even though I prefer my m/m stories to be with proud and out men, it made perfect sense here for the two of them to still be in the closet.

What I adore is when a man actually sounds like a man in a story, which they all do in this one. And I love that not only are there also nationalities other than American, but even a differently abled man is an intrinsic part of this book. I loved that...more

Who am I?

Good question...

I am many things; a mother, a wife, a sister, a writer.

I have pretty, pretty boys who live in my head, who don't let me sleep at night unless I give them life with words.

I like it when they do dirty, dirty things...but I like it even more when they fall in love.

I used to think having people in my head talking to me was weird, until one day I happened across other writer...more

“For all the times he'd fucked me, he'd never fucked me like this. Because this wasn't fucking.

It was in his eyes, in his touch, in his kiss. It was in his heartbeat, pulsing against my chest and inside me. It was how he moaned my name, it was how he murmured and pleaded, and it was how his fingers dug into my skin. It wasn't fucking. It was emotion and pure need…

He was making love to me.”
