Whatever your thoughts about Kitty Kelly, she is a good writer. In the past, I have not been a big fan because her subject matter was either on people (think Hollywood celebrities and/or politicians) I despised or was simply not interested in. This one looks at the British Royal family, and the way she approached the subject matter was quite fascinating. I read this at my in-laws' cottage, sitting on a dock. I read a lot of stuff there I wouldn't normally read elsewhere. My MIL keeps a stock of trashy books on the shelf for dockside reading.
How does Kitty Kelley manage to get this stuff published? The Royal family must have a lot of enemies who are willing to dish up this amount of dirt.

This falls under the rather "tasteless" category of books...It was pretty frothy and full of "tell-all"-like stories from royal staffers. I'm still not sure what an equerry is - but I get the picture. Perfect gossipy book for a weekend with no power where everyone ends up looking bad.

This was like reading some of the juciest articles I've sneaked a peak at while at the frocery store cash register mashed into one entertaining tome and containing my favorite anecdote, "If you queens are finished gossiping, this queen would like her tea!"

My name is Margaret Elizabeth. I am entitled to know what those Winsors have been up to. The book is pure unadulterated gossip and I love it!

This is the book I was reading when I met my future husband. He was reading The Stand, by Stephen King.

A lot of rumor and hearsay, however, it is still an interesting read.
