I knew absolutely nothing about Hugh O'Neill before reading this book. The writing is great, easy to read (often not the case with historical biographies) and at the same time very informative; it brought Hugh O'Neill to life. He would serve well as a leadership case study - early loss of father figure, single-minded determination, a mix of skills including diplomacy and ruthlessness. I wanted Hugh O'Neill to be proclaimed "The O'Neill". I wanted him to win out over the British and dominate his ...more
