WHAT?!?!?!
Whoa did NOT see that coming! Ohmigosh, I thought this manga was done, but it's not and now I have to wait! I'm gonna go crazy!

Not much I can say without giving away a lot of the plot. Things are getting desperate for Sumi and her family as Nozomu shows just how far he'll go to get what he wants. Things come to a head when Soichiro becomes deathly ill and
Sumi must take drastic action in order to save his life.

Overall an interesting volume. Things should be coming to a close, as this is the 2nd to last volume, but the drama is still going strong.

This series is somewhat of a guilty pleasure type shojo, just because it’s… in a way, not very good. Most of the time, at least. I mean, most of the characters are not the best, including the heroine (most of the time, but maybe that’s changing? More on that in a moment) and the villain, and the romance is pretty much what you’d expect it to be, and sometimes it seems that drama is caused for drama’s sake, and it’s so over the top dramatic and cheesy. And yet, I

Overall Series Rating: 3 Stars

I read this series on recommendation. Despite Goodreads constantly putting it forward in my suggestion feed I’ll admit wasn’t all that keen after I read the blurb, but when a fellow blogger put it forward I thought I’d try it.

Overall I did enjoy the series and Stepping On Roses gets bonus points for being unpredictable. I thought the plot would follow a Cinderella set-up (which to some extent it does) and tie up neatly in a happy end, but I wasn’t

When I saw this manga up on Edelweiss awhile back, I was intrigued. I had never read any of this series, and therefore did NOT know that this is the NEXT-TO-LAST VOLUME of the series. But, it looked like somethings I would like, so I gave it a chance. I don't regret that. I am now very interested in the series, and would love to read the 1st 7 volumes, and the final volume.
This volume was provided to me by VIZ Media via Edelweiss as an eARC, in exchange for an honest review. The opinions expre

With Stepping on Roses I always feel it's a bit of a hit or miss, you see my problem with it is that it's still being written which means, with all due sadfish, that I am left on incredibly upsetting cliffhangers which I don't like particularly well. Back to the point the plot in this one was good, it took some interesting and may I say shocking turns. One thing's for sure, this is an unusual shojo because the heroin is realistic, she makes wrong decisions for the right reasons and does unexpect ...more

Oh, this manga series. It's so wonderfully silly, and yet, also smart at the same time. How does Rinko Ueda pull that off? Regardless, I love it.

Being the penultimate volumes in the series, things were bound to get even more desperate than before (just when you thought it couldn't get worse). We always knew Nozomu was crazy with an evil streak, but he's really in true form in this volume. The irony is that while he thinks that he can finally control Sumi and bend her to his will, she's tougher a

I love this book so much. One thing I love about this series is that you cannot predict the story when you are reading! I felt bad for Sumi when I was reading this book because she sacrificed herself to marry Nozomu in order to protect her family and Soichiro. Also, the parts where Sumi left Soichiro when he was sick to save him was very sad. I hope Soichiro get his company and Sumi back. I wish for a happy ending. :)

That, in a nutshell, was pretty great especially if you love Sumi and hate Nozomu. There's even some of abandoned wife Miu and everyone's favorite pretty butler Komai. A lot of drama and romantic dilemmas springing up as this series reaches its final volume (which doesn't come out until February - ack!).

The end of this volume saved it for me. :) I was hoping Sumi would find a way to murder Nozomu but in the absence of poison I can accept a hostile corporate takeover. Honestly Sumi can do whatever she wants so long as the final result is her getting her own against this creepy rapist waste of air. I wouldn't say no if his body ended up at the bottom of a lake after though. Sumi/Agency OTP forever! 3 stars

I enjoyed it, was a fairly easy and quick read. On the one hand i love the characters and other find them annoying a strange combination that kept me reading onward. This series reminds me of a prime time soap opera, love tri-angles, blackmail, and betrayal makes for good entertainment.

3.5 stars!

This volume is the first I've read from the series. And unsurprisingly, it honestly does not seem like I missed much given the fact that the plot is an unoriginal, formulaic soap opera. I still like it though.
