A 'must read' for anyone involved with social movements, organising and activism. Distinctive because of the first person narrative of a specific campaign fighting casinos; valuable because every page provides ideas and insights; and inspiring because of the determination and creativity of all those involved.

This is a critical book for anyone who is an organizer or ...more
It's a great story of a community taking on powerful special interests, and Daniel Hunter tells it in a way that shows what perseverance and smarts can truly accomplish. By revealing his thinking process throughout the campaign, Hunter imparts skills that can be used in many group situations but especially when organizing for social change.
An invaluable read. An excellent campaign case study with an insider's insight into decision making, group dynamics, and internal changes. An inspiring story of a group that won by a generous author who wants you to be able to do the same.
