Two short stories, set in an ever-so-slightly alternate version of our history, where magic is real but hidden. If This Be Magic deals with Sophie, a schoolgirl in Boston during the First World War, who must learn to master her dangerously unpredictable magic or risk losing her life, her love, and possibly even the war.

The Traitor and the Spy is set in Victorian England, where the teenaged Philomena (who much prefers Phil, thank you very much - and wouldn't you?) def
