Sometimes love lives in the past…

In an alternate 2014, time travel is commonplace, regulated by the government. 17-year-old Trevor Bartley has been selected to be an exchange student to the year 1963 to study the civil rights era. The rules: do nothing that could alter the natural flow of time. But when he meets his host family, he finds himself incredibly drawn to 17-year

I’m a big fan of time-travel. I am not a big fan of YA. So I knew going in that this book was probably going to be a mixed bag for me. But there are not enough time-travel m/m books out there, so I thought I would give it a go–-even if this one is plagued by teenagers.

After months of testing and intensive screening, Trevor Bartley has won a place in the Time Travel Exchange Program. He is excited to be visiting 1963, and witnessing a world on the brink of social change. Trevor had prepared himse
Gosh what can I say other than there isn't anything that I did not love about this novel.

The characters were really interesting and the plot really kept you on edge wondering what
would happen next.

A teenager from 2014 heads back in time to 1963. Experiences so many new and old things.

The author wrote it so well I didn't realize how quickly I was actually inhaling the book.
I look forward to more books like this well Not exactly but a tender love story filled with intrigue!

Please give this a try

I loved this story to the point where I was dreading that it had to end. But, unfortunately, everything does come to an end....Trevor, a seventeen year old from the year 2014, gets transported to the year 1963....little did he know that he'd find love along side unveiling a threat to future generations....this story was intriguing, descriptive, funny and heart wrenching....Mark Allan Gunnells' writing was as perfect as I've ever read....his detail for description and yet, his poignant yet simple ...more
The Exchange Student is a bittersweet little page-turner with a plot that makes it stand out in the genre.

Great story, interesting take on time travel. Good character development. I gave it 4 stars not just because it didn't have the HEA I was expecting (or wanted). It felt like part of the ending was missing, almost as if the author left room for a sequel. Overall, I really enjoyed the story and look forward to reading other books by this author.
I like the idea of an exchange student in time, but thought that everyone knowing about him would have affected the timeline. The time guardian being from the 1880s was a little unbelievable as well.
