I read this book because Charlotte Douglas co-authored some books with Janet Evanovich, so I had high hopes for it. It was a good read and I may have to look into reading the rest of the Maggie Skerrit books now. Like Janet, Charlotte writes a series with a strong dominant female personality. Maggie is a former cop turned private investigator. The books focus on her and her fiancé Bill and their investigating company.

Another good read from one of my favourite authors, but I think I prefer the historical romances.

CHARLOTTE DOUGLAS has loved a good story since she learned to read at the age of three. After years of teaching that love of books to her students, she now enjoys creating stories of her own. Often her books are set in one of her three favorite places—Montana, where she and her husband spent their honeymoon; the mountains of North Carolina, where she has a summer home; or Florida, near the Gulf of ...more
