Just like the first two McMurray books, this third volume has another skunk from the McMurray clan mated to, this time, an elephant. Of course, the fact that yet another skunk from the McMurray clan is his mate wasn't exactly a huge surprise, but the way in which they got to know each other and dealt with the respective issues was very entertaining.

Emiel, the almost live-in friend of the elephant and rhinoceros shifters from the first two books, has one huge problem: a fiancee he doesn't want th

Apparently mating is always the answer to all problems Smiley. I grew tired of the concept... Lachlan is getting shotgun-mated next whoopee. Smiley

Meh, the author had everything going for her in this story. Interesting characters, good lore, and curiosity about them from previous books.

Instead we have a rushed and jumbled beginning. The first chapters constantly start with for the next few days, weeks, months. I would've loved to be involved in these conversations and interactions she fast forwarded through. She does this so much I have little to no attachment to the MCs.

Another thing that really bothered me was Sealey's little tantrums

This is another installment of the Unmated at Midnight series that is related to Flynn’s Midnight Mating books. This tells us about Emiel, an elephant shifter and Sealey, a skunk shifter. Poor Sealey was tricked into working for a vampire coven and is being abused. Emiel’s character is strong and dependable. He’s the dutiful son, and the one who always takes care of everyone else’s needs above his own. When he discovers Sealey is being abused, of course, he sets out to rescue him. I actually lik ...more
This book finally addressed the character Sealey since we had been informed of his abusive relationship in the previous couple books. Sealey mated Emiel...which im not sure how to pronounce lol. In all the previous books we were made to empathize with Emiel bc he was being forced into an arranged marriage. So when Emiel informs his parents of his mating to sealy and his parents are shocked to hear that he doesnt want to marry the female shifter and support his male was anticlimactic ...more
I liked these 2. I wish we knew more about Josh though and why he wanted Sealey. (view spoiler)

I am not sure I will read Lachlan's story.

Doesn't have the usual as of late 'fight over stupid things' 'blow it way out of proportion' with the exception of intimacy issues and fears. The only thing I probably had a problem with would be that Sealey JUST got away from an abusive situation (NOT relationship) and while he and Emiel made a connection online with chats they almost immediately jump into intimacy without full on sex. Then by the time we get to full on sex, it was a bit lacking (possibly from the long wait?) and not r

There's nothing that can be said, that I haven't already said. So, since its nothing good, I'll just leave it at that.
