James and Hikaru are an interesting couple. James was so uncomfortable with just how fast Hikaru was moving. He struggled to accept that Hikaru’s dominant personality meant something different than his ex-boyfriend’s domineering one. I loved that Hikaru showed a patience that was not easy for him. He wanted to protect James but understood that failing to allow James the space to choose could cost him a future with the man who has stolen his heart. I thought Ms. Medina did a wonderful job of ...more

Liked it very cute very quick read. I Don't understand the Title though but it doesn't detract from the story. James and Hikaru (white guy with a Japanese name. . kinda funny lol) are adorable. James is coming out of an abusive relationship and needs to learn that dominance shouldn't be abusive. Hikaru teaches him what a loving happy relationship should look like. I took away one star because the MCs didn't have any conflict within their relationship. The outside source of conflict didn't ...more

I rather enjoyed this one. A short quick read, and though the relationship hits the ground running, I found the chemistry worked. Yes, it seems James goes from one aggressive man to another, but I believe there is a clear distinction in the personality vibes you get from each. When you first meet Peter there's no doubt in your mind he's not a nice guy, and not just because he's the jilted ex. Whereas with Hikaru, yes he's aggressive, but you never get a creepy feeling from him. He sees James, ...more

Yikes! This was a disaster. MC goes from one controlling bastard of a boyfriend to another controlling bastard of a boyfriend and we're supposed to find this romantic? I could not finish it. From what I read, which was 50%, it was terrible.

Marie Medina was born in northern New England and raised by her pale, mysterious godfather in a dark gothic mansion on the edge of her small, sleepy town. He didn’t turn out to be a Bronte hero or a vampire, as she thought when she was very young, but he is her best friend and the standard by which she measures all her heroes (and suitors). She has been writing since the age of eleven and has no ...more
