Adventure from Page to Page

This book is the first in the five-book Ryce Dalton Series, a page turner almost continuously throughout. Captain Ryce Dalton, Ret., U.S. Rangers, left the military after fourteen years as a Ranger Company Commander due to a severe arm injury he received in the line of duty. With his superior intelligence, there was nothing through his thirty-four years that Ryce couldn’t do.

The plot begins with Ryce secreted in the mountains near the Montana-Alberta border. He has be

Where does one begin? The plot was disconnected. The writing beyond amateurish. The characters so weakly developoed and so numerous, I couldn't keep them straight right up to the end of the story! And the author's sense of humor didn't come off as humorous. Even when they dropped a body they were carrying, they 'chuckled'. It seemed like all the characters could do was 'chuckle'. The story started out with potential that quickly faded after the first few pages into a huge disappointment. The ...more

I rather enjoyed this one even though the writing was pretty basic, the story was good. Border Patrol officer Ryce Dalton is leading a task force from several different agencies in tracking the trafficking of stolen classified items across the border to Canada. With ex members of the Seals and Rangers and fellow patrol officers they track their prey across the wilds of Idaho and Montana. Well paced action keep me reading to find out how it all ended.

Decent story. I got bogged down, sometimes, in the relationship between Ryce and Tanya but I appreciated the author's discretion regarding their sex life. Some issues may have been related to my not knowing the other characters (apparently there are other series with these same characters) and I sometimes felt like I'd come in in the middle of the play. Overall, though, it was a good read and didn't seem to feel "over the top" at any point.

Ryce Dalton, a Ranger recently returned from Afghanistan, is chief of the Joint Border Force coordinating with Canada on security issues. The JBF is searching for computers stolen with sensitive materials. The search involves hiking in the Glacier park chasing criminals using high tech equipment.

I really enjoyed this all the twist and turns. I would recommend this to anyone who likes a good crime novel.

The premise of the book was interesting. I thought the interpersonal relationships of the main characters was juvenile and detracted from the book.

Ugh! Can you say "chuckled"? Better yet, get a thesaurus. Poorly developed characters, odd connections to past events. I find it impossible this book could have made it through an editing process.
