As you read this book, there are a few things you have to understand: 95 percent of my stories are truthful. Every member of the Robertson family has the God- given gift of storytelling. Hey, when you’ve sat in a duck blind for more than half of your life, you have to figure out some way to pass the time! It’s better than looking at Willie and Jase for...more

Because I don’t watch television, I was interested to know more about this fad of a camouflaged ZZ Top bearded man toting a plastic cup. Stores are flooded with Si-covered apparel; Facebook is inundated with duck-themed quotes. What is going on?

Okay, Si is funny, Jack. After reading through this book (the fastest 240 pages ever—nice job editors; tell me how you pulled that off), I can see the appeal of Si’s fanatical character. And Si admits to this in the book: being a character. I think it is...more

Hey, so listen up. If you're reading this book it probably means that you are a fan of Duck Dynasty if not then...hey.

Si is the crazy uncle on Duck Dynasty who is always carrying around his tupperware cup and seems to be a few ducks short of flock. It's this crazy personality and unbelievable stories that make him so much fun. As you would expect this book contains some of his crazy stories, like a wheel of this deuce and a half (military vehicle he used in Vietnam) being stolen while he was dri...more

Okay, I think now is the time to admit it - I watch Duck Dynasty. I'm not a die-hard fan of the show, but I've progressed from a fan-by-default (Mister and Bug love it) to someone who looks forward to the show each week. Trust me when I say that it sneaks up on you. Si Robertson is pretty much the sole reason that I watch the show, and his book did not disappoint the fan in me.

Si Robertson is crazy, and I mean that in the most respectful and posit...more

I award the "non-fiction" tag with some trepidation, considering that this is Si Robertson we're dealing with here.

I watch Duck Dynasty on A&E and Si is one of my favorite "characters." I am aware that the individuals featured on the show are not necessarily true-to-life; often they may have been exaggerated or embellishing a plot at the direction of the tv show editors/writers/crew. Obviously, if Duck Dynasty was a true representation of the Robertsons, then the Duck Commander line of call...more

I gave this three stars. Si tries to tell his life in a very funny way, which I'm assuming is supposed to cater to his fans on the show. Not being familiar with the show, some of the humor probably went past me. I read this because I work in a bookstore, and--based on the popularity of "Duck Dynasty", this upcoming book is likely to be very popular. Otherwise, I probably would not have picked it up. With THAT being said, it was an enjoyable autobiography. Si is an interesting person who lived a...more

To say that I like the A&E hit show Duck Dynasty is an understatement - I love it. The Robertson clan and company represent the polar opposite of everything that I have ever known. For example, exactly zero men in my family hunt. I have never, ever seen anyone that I hold near and dear sporting camouflage couture (and I highly doubt that I ever will). And, most importantly, beards exist within my family for the extent of no shave November... and then they are gone. Yes, I am a city girl. Whe...more

If you’re a fan of the A&E hit Duck Dynasty, this book is a must read/listen. I’ve heard some people say that if you’ve never seen the show, you probably wouldn’t like it, but I think it will make you want to check the show out. After all, how could anybody not like Si? He’s honest, hilarious, can find fun in just about anything, and very loving and humble.

This is more of a biography, and that’s what’s so interesting about it. Through these stories you’ll get to know Si better, and see a dif...more

When you can't put the book down and you read it in one day....it's definitely a 5 star book. I'm a huge fan of the Duck Commander family. Si-Cology 1 tells the story of Si's life from the beginning until the present. Si was also in Vietnam and shares his stories in his book! If you are a fan of the family, I would recommend this book to get a deeper understanding of them.

The Definition of Redneck
Si-Cology 1
By Si Robertson
with Mark Schlabach

Have you ever heard of a redneck? You know the ones that live in the south and do the most ridiculous things in ways you’ve never even heard of. They taulk like thius. Well I know one that lives in West Monroe, Louisiana and is a star of the hit show on A&E called Duck Dynasty. Yep, you guessed it, Mr. Silas Merritt Robertson.

In “Si-Cology 1,” Mark Schlabach’s first novel, Si Robertson is a Redneck. Here let me spell it fo...more

Book Cover: As all of the other books that Duck Dynasty has produced I loved this book cover of the fun and lovable Uncle Si. *STAR*

Author: Si is the perfect author because he is an amazing story teller that can make the setting where you feel like you were there with him watching everything happen. *STAR*

Story: I really enjoyed the flow of this book of all of Si's life experiences and all he went through. I loved how the end of each chapter lead you into the next chapter. *STAR*

I was pretty disappointed in this book. I love Duck Dynasty and Uncle Si is a favorite but this book was not the usual Si. It came across as being someone else's voice. I'm sure the stories were Si's but obviously written and edited by a professional. The language was too proper, all complete sentences and absolutely nothing nonsensical. They did at least throw in "hey" and "Jack" to make it seem like Si was speaking. I didn't even find the stories all that entertaining either. I gave up even tr...more

This book was written by Si Robertson with Mark Schlabach, Si tells you all about his from when can to remember until when the book was published. He starts out telling you about hid childhood growing up in Louisiana with his three older brothers his younger sister and his parents, when he was growing they lived in a two bedroom house on a farm. The family didn't have a lot of money so they grew or killed everything they eat, Si and his brothers hunted and fished a lot. In there show Duck Dynast...more

I'm not necessarily a fan of the redneck reality TV shows. I watched, at max, two episodes of Honey Boo Boo and didn't get it which is why I resisted watching Duck Dynasty for soooo long but after hearing so many people continually rave about the show I gave it a try.

And it is--- awesome!!

This book is very strictly Si's biography. There is little about the current Duck Dynasty show-- maybe one chapter or so about how he got involved and it was somewhat reluctantly.

What it is is heartwarming stor...more

Goodness, my favorite of all the Duck Dynasty books yet! Si is something, .....something I can't even fully put into words!

As Si will tell you, Hey! And, get that Jack! LOL. He tells us about his childhood and some of it was pretty funny. I liked the little statements he has throughout like...Stop and smell the roses but smell them fast. This was said by Si cause he was smelling a flower and got stung on the nose by a bubble bee. Loved the story about the bee attack and everyone laughing while picking out the bee stingers out of his butt. Glad he was okay though.

I liked hearing about his life and how he is a Christ...more

Arguably the most entertaining character on A&E’s “Duck Dynasty,” Si Robertson knows how to keep a person amused, and this trait carries over into his candid book, “Si-cology 101.” This autobiographical collection of stories is well organized and reads quickly, offering readers a conversational look into Si’s life, straight from the funny man himself! He discusses his childhood and growing up in the backwoods with his large family, school, serving in Vietnam and his career in the army, start...more

If you love Duck Dynasty as much as I do, then you HAVE to read this book! Uncle Si is by far the funniest part of the show and I knew this book would be just as funny. I listened to the audiobook, which is partially read by Si himself, and partially read by his nephew. I had tears streaming out of my eyes on several occasions from laughing so hard. This book follows Uncle Si throughout his life and all of his funniest shenanigans. According to Si himself, 95% of the stories he tells are true, a...more

I loved this book! I never miss an episode of Duck Dynasty and this book was a real eye opener about the real Silas Robertson. Yes, his antics are crazy and his backwoods humor is great, but there is a lot more to this man than meets the eye.
Each chapter begins with a photograph of him, young and old, and each chapter tells a different story from his past. It is as if it is more a collection of short stories than a book that flows naturally.
I loved the stories about his military days and those o...more

A quick, easy read. I surprisingly learned quite a bit about the life of Si Robertson that completely left out of Duck Dynasty (I assume for the sack of personal privacy). He just seems like the crazy old bachelor uncle on the show, but in reality is quite different.

I don't think anyone could have predicted the enormous popularity of this modern day "Beverly Hillbillies." Even Si states in the end of his book that he is still flabbergasted by it. But what makes this group so different than the 60s sitcom with Granny, Jed, Miss Hathaway, and the gang? They are real people, with real problems, with real circumstances, and with a REAL Savior. And they are not afraid to let people know! I truly valued and appreciated the back story to Si's life....even with all...more

If you watch Duck Dynasty then you already love Uncle Si. Very enjoyable, lighthearted book about an average man, living an average life trying his best to be a good husband and father. Several funny moments as the 5% of the story comes to light (he says that his stories are 95% true). He has an honest way of looking at the world, that is refreshing. A phrase I once heard comes to mind as I consider this book, it is, "the glory of the ordinary" on one level nothing special but when you really lo...more

I'm not much of a television watcher and I don't really watch Duck Dynasty so I can't tell you who is who on there. I have listened in while my daughter watched it or caught a few minutes of it during a few of my TV sessions. Anyway, I guess I know enough about them to appreciate them to some degree. So I was in the store looking for something to read while I wait for my daughter to get out of school and found this and decided why not. It was fun and entertaining. Not sure how much to really bel...more

"Si-cology 1" was a fantastic book that i thought explained the life of Si Robertson very well. This book told you old stories from Si's days in the Vietnam War, all the way up into present day. Some stories were funny, and other stories actually taught you lessons. I think Si Robertson wrote this story to share what he has experienced in his life and how certain situations have impacted on his life. Even though people make think Si is just a funny old man, this book shows how he is actually ver...more

I thought that this book was fabulous. I thought it had a good variation of humor and seriousness to go in it-which is totally how Si is on the TV show. I loved how Si talks about his own life experiences and although I couldn't relate to all of his experiences I felt like I could relate to some of them. I also like how Si wasn't afraid to express his personal feelings on any subject matter. I thought that the way he told the struggle going on within his marriage could be very inspiring to some...more

Si Robertson points to his right hand to the quote “Tales & Wisdom from Duck Dynasty’s Favorite Uncle.” guess he claiming to be the favorite uncle. On the title it says “Si-Cology 1” with and 10 mark off we’re not learning any psychology . He gives us a crazy face that a crazy person thinks he is insane. In the show he has his ice tea cup with him at all times and this shows that he is a tea-holic.

I think Si Robertson did a great job writing his book Sicology. In this story Si talks about his life before the television show Duck Dynasty was produced. Si talks about his life when him and Phil, his brother were kids.Si talks about alot of really wierd things in this story, which in my opinon makes this a good book. In this story he talks alot about the Robetson family and how close they are and all there strenghts and weaknesses.

I think the theme of this book is funny, because in this book...more

I read the book "Si-cology" by Si Robertson which is an autobiography about his life. He is the star of the famous T.V. show Duck Dynasty. Si's purpose in writing the book was to inform and entertain the reader about his life stories from his humble childhood to present day.
The theme of his book would be that faith, family, and the outdoors are the keys to a happy life. Si and his wife Christine tried for years to start a family with no success. They both believed that if it was in Gods will...more

I really like the book. Not only because I got a great laugh out of them but also because there was some history in it. For example he told a story about Vietnam and I don't know exactly how much truth there was in it but I could tell that there was some truth in it. I also love how after I watch the television show and then go and read this book how he is the same character in both the book and the television series. I could go on and on about the stories that he tells in this book. There is on...more
