Another history novel that I devoured. This one is about the last woman who was officially sentenced to be burned alive due to her involvement in witchcraft, in Switzerland. This took place in the mid-18-hundreds, if you can believe it! It shows clearly that confident women were perceived as a nuisance and a threat, and how society was obsessed with keeping control over misfits like that. Ein äusserlich spannender und ergreifender Roman in dem Eveline Hasler die tragische und wahre Geschichte der Anna Göldin schildert. Die letzte Frau in Europa, die in der Schweiz als Hexe hingerichtet wurde.

Als am 18. Juni 1782 Anna Göldin als Vergifterinn angeklagt und durch das Schwert hingerichtet wurde, wussten alle im Glarnerland von der Hexe, die das guffenspeiende Kind des Arztes und Fünferrichters Tschudi verdorben haben soll.

A very interesting story about the last witch in Switzerland. But I don't like the writing style at all. It makes a very boring and weird reading.
