This social drama is set in a small satellite town of Frankfurt, which could be in the domain of just about any western city. The small town is mainly one of middle class streets. There is though, an area called the Park which is made up of low cost, high-rise apartments. This neighbourhood is full of foreign and first generation German citizens, many of Turkish extraction. A story of love, life and crime in the suburbs.

Moving house is traumatic and children change, sometimes unrecognisably so in their teens, so, when Karen’s husband Sebastian gets a new job, the family including their 16-year-old daughter Bettina and 12-year-old son Philip move to the up market Bitterfeld-Bergau suburbs of Frankfurt.

Peggie Biessmann was born in Ireland. She has worked in London and Germany in a variety of jobs including six crazy years with the car company Chrysler Europe.

Her novel Freefall was one of the winners of the Novel Fair 2012 organised by the Irish Writers' Centre.
She has published her novel Spate of Violence as an e-book on Amazon.
