This is probably the first teen vampire book I've ever read and it certainly gave the genre a good reputation! I've always been a fan of the Goosebumps series (and I still am), but then I found this and was totally blown away! The Goosebumps series are totally tame compared to this and I'd definitely say this book would give younger kids real nightmares!
The twins' situation felt real throughout wit...more
Still, this book is a beautiful tragedy. The cliffhangers are as enticing as ever, and although most of his hints can be seen from miles away, there were a few moments I didn't see coming....more

Book Length: 320 Pages
Cover: I love this cover, it is an original vampire cover before they were known as glittery, self loathing beings. The art is beautiful and the vampire in the background grabs my eyes and wont let go. Love it!

I liked this, but I didn't love it. The characters themselves are okay, but a little two-dimensional. The writing was definitely Stine's, but there were also some problems with it. Mostly with the dialogue. It seemed that the characters said one another's names way too much, enough that it felt unrealistic.
The story itself was interesting, though I...more

This book was weak. The plot was good, it was a good idea, but the way it was brought out wasn't so great. There wasn't much detail and it seemed like everything was fast paced. One thing that really annoyed me was the dialogue. In one chapter Ari and Ross are talking back and forth and what theyre saying doesn't relate in any way and they just speak as if the other one isn't there. It made entirely no sense. The only reason I finished this book is because I feel incomplete when I don't finish...more
This book is interesting and fun because of all the suspense going on.
It all starts out when two twin sisters go to a camp.
Destiny, one of the twin sisters, gets bitten by a counselor on the last day of camp, but doesn't know.
Destiny later finds out about her cravings for blood and realizes that something has gone wrong. Before she and her sister know it they're on the run ,because there are many vampire hunters including their own dad.
Twins Destiny and Livvy Weller are attractive and popular. And their lives change one summer at Camp Blue Moon. While at camp, they are bitten by a vampire. Returning home, they realize that they are hungry. Hungry for blood.
Cheesy and not particularly well written, this novel still draws in the reader. The girls are likable, and the vampire story line is always compelling, at least for me.
I thought this book would be scary, but it wasn't. It was very soft on vampires. It's nothing like Twilight. It doesn't compare one single bit. Some things happen in the story that you don't expect.
