It is a must for me. Saintyves is a foklorist. He examines Weimar's edition of Faust and the English version too, I think it is Christopher Marlowe+I know there is one medieval version of Theophile of man who sold himself to devil. That is I think a tale as as iI know

Note: this review contains spoilers for versions of Faust by this unknown author, Marlowe and Goethe. That's a lot of spoilers. Proceed at your own risk, as the devil would say.

Well, if I was going to make a deal with the devil, I would use it to nail Helen of Troy too. As far as as deals go, that seems reasonable.

This is much more readable than I thought it'd be. I expected a pretty lame, dry, preachy text. Shit's from like 1585, after all, and I'm a big fan of Marlowe's retelling from 1604. I

This review is for an English translation of this anonymous German story from the late 16th century. I tagged this edition because it is closest to the online translation I read.

First printed in 1587, the German translation of this legend is derived from the original story which was produced manually and written in Latin.
