The invitation arrived in a black-bordered envelope. Inside, the card showed a coffin with the inscription "Reserved For You". It was perfectly fitting for an all-night Halloween party on Fear Street. But Terry and his girlfriend Niki wondered why they had been invited. They barely knew Justine Cameron, the beautiful and mysterious transfer student who was throwing the par...more

R.L. Stine is at his best in Halloween Party. The book is about nine seemingly random students from Shadyside High School that were invited to attend a Halloween party at the home of the new, beautiful transfer student, Justine Cameron. Justine Cameron's home is on Fear Street and that means nothing is what it seems.

One of the students invited, Nikki, is a deaf girl with a large curiosity. Nikki makes it her mission to figure out why Justine invited the select nine that she did, as well as dete...more

I have taken a little bit of crap this year for revisiting the Fear Street books. This is the second year that I have done a Fear Street October. I try to read a few to get my quick thrills. I understand that they are not of high literary merit but I ENJOY them. They make me laugh, amuse the crap out of me, and they actually kind of suck me in. It's like watching a horror flick and adding to my book count at the same time.

This was particularly amusing read. Terry and his girlfriend, Nicki, are i...more

This book is called The Halloween Party and was writen by R.L Stine. This book is fiction and has 147 pages and i finished this book yesterday and that was 10/23/12. This book is about a girl named Justine and she is new at his high school and she is having a Halloween party and the invantation list is very strange. This is an all night party and
there are two team "The Jocks" and "The Nerds" within 30 minutes of this party something goes terribly wrong the lights go out and when they come back...more

halloween partyis definitely one of the books that inspired me to write my horrorscape series, along with the myriad of other 'rsvp-or-die'-type horror novels from the 1980s and 1990s.

i think the reason this is such a pervasive theme is because cell phones weren't invented yet. there's so many people at parties that it's far too easy for someone to disappear or drift away with nobody noticing until it's too late. nowadays, you could just flip out mr. cell phone and be like, "sup? where you at, b...more

Have you ever read a book in which was scary and good at the same time? Well, that is what this book is about. It starts off good and ends scary. I liked this book because it is scary and mysterious.

The first reason why I liked this book is because it was scary. One of the main characters wanted to try to kill six kids because their parents killed her parents. That scary part really got me into the books. It was scary all through the book and really kept me on the edge of my seat.

The second a...more

This was the only Fear Street book I ever actually liked. I really found myself connecting with the characters, and read it probably five or six times, though, my early teenage mind wanted "more" still, in the relationship between Nikki and her best friend. The writing was tight, it was a gripping tale that felt "real". Highly recommend this for girls 11-14.

R.L. Stine can definitely do better than this book. It's about a boy and his girlfriend who go to their friend Justine's house for a halloween party when they find one of the guests has murder on his (or her) mind. So short I read it in one night, and the plot is pretty basic and simple. I can't say it was boring, but it was ridiculously gory!

Because this was a Halloween themed Fear Street book, I expected more. Perhaps with all of the "normal" horror stuff that happens, Halloween just isn't that big of a deal. The plot was ok. It's been done before and there's nothing special about Stine's take on it. Although, there were parts where the realism was streched quite a bit to make it fit the story. (view spoiler)[I do wish the plot would have had some supernatural aspect to it considering it was Halloween. I was also annoyed by the fac...more

Again I read this one due to it's Upper Grade AR interest level. It turned out to be a silly mild horror story about a new girl at school throwing a creepy Halloween party. I'm sure my kids will enjoy it, though! And nothing too inappropriate.

This one was good. A Halloween party is something a lot of teenagers experience in their lives so it's a good place for scary stuff to happen. Of course, nothing like that would happen in real life, but that's what makes it so fun!
Salma
it was good because it had mysteries and gives you clues of who did it and whats going to happen.

now the guests trick-o-treating has turned to terror. and it looks like someone's idea of a party game is murder.

The book which I just finished is called Halloween Party by R.L. Stine, although it was rather simple it was a very good suspenseful read because it had me wanting to read more. I could not put that book down and I would read at least one chapter at each and every moment which I had free time. I recommend it to anyone who likes books around the topic of suspense and on Halloween which makes it even better because that is when all the creepy things come out and play enjoying there time to blend i...more

I bought this for my best friend for Halloween in 2010, and we read it out loud, it was so much better than watching some 'scary' film, we really enjoyed it. Great memories!
