4.5 Amazing Stars!

I got a copy of this book from the publisher through Netgalley in exchange of an honest review!

Another first for me! While still unable to get as much computer time as before, I been enjoying a lot of first time authors for me. Thought I started this one in the middle of the series, it wasn't hard to keep up with everything that has been going on. Sure it feels like the characters that appeared in the book are from previous books, but Christmas on 4th Street read like a stand-a...more

"This was what she'd been looking for, she thought happily. Closeness. Belonging. And she'd found it."

Oh yes, it's Christmas time in Fool's Gold too! And like the song "love is all around us",haha.
This is the second book I read in this series and I just love it! The hopeless romantic in me just jumps around feeling all giddy and excited while reading it.
If I would come up just one word to describe it, it would be LOVELY!...more

This was a sweet romance. It's Christmas time and Gabriel Boylan has come to Fool's Gold to spend Christmas with his twin. As an Army trauma doctor, Gabriel has faced all sorts of stress and has determined that taking a chance on love is a foolish risk because anyone could die at any time. Noelle Perkins has also faced a lot of trauma in her life but her reaction was different. She believes that love is worth any risk.

Noelle has come to Fool's Gold after a life threatening illness determined to...more
Sweet and cute. Loved the characters like always with Susan Mallery. This lady knows how to write romance that's for sure but I feel like her last books have lost the oumph they used to have...
There is a fine line between good Christmas-cheesy and bad Christmas-cheesy.

This is the story of Noelle and Gabriel (let the cheese commence). Noelle runs a Christmas store (of course) which she opened in the town of Fool's Gold (really?) after a bout of Leukemia chased off her fiance and her employer. Gabriel is a trauma doctor for the US Army serving on life flights out of war zones with "break" rotations in Germany. He is understandably scarred and has an extreme commitment phobia.

I was so excited to read this novella. While it's not close enough to Christmas i really got into the vibe to read this. We've met Noelle in a previous book and i wondered what her story was. Susan Mallery has a great way of approaching serious things in her books and not make it all about that. She weaves it into the story with grace and makes you feel for her characters. Both Noelle and Gabriel who is Gideon's twin brother have had difficult things happen in their lives. Only difference is Noe...more
I love Christmas stories (especially Fool’s Gold ones). So the fact that not only is this story a lovely holiday story, but Noelle (the heroine) OWNS a Christmas shop….perfect.

I couldn’t wait to read Noelle’s story. From the previous books I could tell that she was hiding a secret, and it’s a pretty deep one. She’s such a nice, hopeful, and (very) strong woman. Then there’s Gabriel, who is a reluctant soldier, a good doctor, and someone who has lost his way. I thought Mallery does a great job i...more

After twelve books, I am still just as much in love with Fool’s Gold as I have ever been! And it’s the perfect place to spend Christmas! (No really, I wish I could pack up my family and spend Christmas in Fool’s Gold!)

This newest story features Noelle, the owner of The Christmas Attic and Gabriel, Gideon’s twin brother. And I have to say I loved both of them from their very first scenes!

Gabriel is seeing his family for the first time in years, having grown up in a high pressure family – where he...more
It is time for us to visit Fool’s Gold again and catch up with some of the characters previously met. After reading Gideon’s story in Two of a Kind I wanted to be able to read about his brother Gabriel so I was pleased to see that he has been given his own story.

Gabriel is a trauma specialist in the army and is currently on medical leave and decides to visit his brother whom he has not seen for a few years as the family had drifted apart. Whilst in Fool’s Gold he meets Noelle who seems like a br...more

Noelle is the owner of the newest shop in town, The Christmas Attic. She is a kindhearted and sweet woman who has faced some difficult times in her life and has come through with a wonderful outlook on life. She soon meets Gabriel who is the twin of Gideon. Gabriel was raised that he had to be in the army even though it was not what he wanted. While serving as a doctor stationed in Germany he hurt his hand so now he is on leave and is spending the holidays with his brother. They get the news tha...more

You can never go wrong with a Susan Mallery book especially one from the Fool's Gold series. Christmas on 4th Street does not disappoint. In this book, we get Noelle Perkins' story. In previous books we get introduced to her, but now it's her turn for more attention. We also get to know more about the Boylan family. Gideon, from Two of a Kind has a twin brother, Gabriel who is visiting Fool's Gold for the holiday's along with their parents who they haven't seen in years.

Gabriel is a doctor in th...more

Susan Mallery does Christmas like no one else. She captures the true drama and emotion of a dysfunctional family and pairs it perfectly with a love so amazingly sweet and perfect that no one sees it coming. Gabriel is a top notch military physician, he's used to dropping into the midst of battle and treating and hauling out the injured soldiers. He never expected to be the patient, or to spend the holidays with his family. But when Gabriel is suddenly injured, he is ordered to take a leave of ab...more

Christmas on 4th Street by Susan Mallery
Thanksgiving in Fool's Gold and the holidays are approaching fast. Love this series and this one is devoted to Noelle Perkins who runs the Christmas Attic. She left behind a huge legal business and moved to Fool's Gold.
She's doing Felicia a favor by going to her house to feed the dog and let him go out. Problem is she meets head first the snowbank and then at the house it's not locked but there's a man there, Gabriel, Gideon's brother.
He's just in time for...more
I love Christmas in Fool’s Gold…. This charming romance centers on a slightly curmudgeon Doctor and the endearingly optimistic Christmas shop owner Noelle who with the magic of the holidays find romance. Readers are reunited with the quirky citizens of Fool’s Gold and treated to the madness of the town that makes this series work. My favorite quote from this book is “I look at a sunrise and I see promise.” That is what the spirit of this book is all about, hope and promise. Christmas on 4th Stre...more
Fool's Gold, a town in California, is everything but fool's gold. It's the real thing. Susan Mallery has written about the small town all of us dream about living in at one time in our lives. For sure, it is a town no one wants to leave. I went a bit further. I wanted to own The Christmas Attic. The Christmas Attic is a Christmas store owned by Noelle. This season Noelle will meet a new love. Her first love, Jeremy, betrays her at the time she needs him most. Of course, Gabriel doesn't come with...more
I am lucky enough to have received an ARC of Christmas on 4th Street...

Noelle and Gabriel's story is a heart wrenching one. I laughed then cried, and then got mad at both Noelle and Gabriel. I think this is the best Christmas story Susan Mallery has written to date. I loved the way it twisted and turned, and I knew it would have a happy ending, just wasnt expecting... sorry, not spoiling it for those who havent read it.
It's April, and it's too bad that I didn't get to read "Christmas on 4th Street" before would have been fun to actually read over Christmas!

I keep thinking that I'll get tired of reading the "Fool's Gold" series, or that Mallery will run out of ways to keep me interested in her characters, but that hasn't happened yet.

Noelle (ouch..really..we didn't already know this was a Christmas book?) is just a wonderful heroine. I loved her positive and cheerful view of life. I loved how determined...more

Gabriel hurts his hand and comes to the town of Fool's Gold to heal. His twin brother Gideon loves there with his fiancé Felicia. Gabriel is a doctor in the army. While in Fool's Gold, he meets Noelle who has come to her friend's house to check on and feed her dog. She meets Gabriel at the door with an umbrella as she thinks he is breaking in. They become good friends after that and even closer when they go out to look for a Christmas tree to participate in the town's decorating of the stores in...more

I love returning to the Fools Gold world! It is a home away from home, and I love visiting all of my old friends, and meeting new ones!

There is nothing like being in the world of Fools Gold during the Christmas time. This Christmas we get to spend it with Gabriel and Noelle. Gabriel is a doctor for the military, and Noelle owns a cute little Holiday store.

No one says romance like Susan does. In most of her books the romance starts almost immediately. Noelle is asked to check on a friends dog, an...more

My history with the Fool's Gold series is a little sketchy. I liked the 1st book, only made it through 20 pages of book #2, liked books #3 and #4 with some pretty heavy reservations. So when I saw this book on the new release shelf in the library I picked it up not quite knowing what to expect. The story sounded interesting and Lisa had made it sound pretty good. Also, I've always liked Mallery's writing style. To my relief I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The story was sweet and I loved the main...more
I liked Noelle and her story with Gabriel. It was good to figure out her past and her present outlook on life. She is such a child at heart and it shows every day she exists. I love her competitive side coming out and her search for the perfect tree. Gabriel has the same conflict like his twin brother Gideon and didn't feel worthy of love and a future. Fool's Gold has a way of working on you and turning you around. The wedding at the end was a bit much but I went with it considering all 4 couple...more
Christmas can be a magical time of year. At least that’s the way Noelle Perkins sees it, especially since her store – The Christmas Attic – is booming.

The charming voice of narrator Tanya Eby enhances this story of family, friends, love and Christmas magic. She gives each character their own unique voice and beautifully articulates their emotions.

Given a second chance at life, Noelle tackles each day with a positive outlook. She’s happy with her life just the way it is until she encounters Gabri...more
Four stars: A charming, romantic, cozy holiday book.

Noelle's car skitters on the ice before sliding straight into the snowbank. She has no experience with winter driving, and heading up the hill on icy roads is something she shouldn't be doing. Still someone needed to let out Felicia's puppy. Noelle couldn't refuse helping her friend Felicia. After all, Felicia has helped her so many times since she moved to Fool's Gold. Noelle quickly discovers the key isn't in its normal spot and the front doo...more

Fool's Gold series returns with snow falls in the area. Noelle is a friend of Felicia who lives with Gideon, she shows up at their house and meets Gabriel, who is Gideon's brother, a doctor and luckily he has some experience in retrieving cars from snowbanks.

I enjoy friendly, bright Felicia, who tends to give a lecture instead of a comment. Gabriel and Gideon have barely spoken for a decade. What's worse, their drill sergeant father is coming to visit Gideon too. He decides to offer to help Noel...more

Review originally published at The Bookwyrm's Hoard.

Christmas on 4th Street is another heartwarming holiday romance set in Susan Mallery's fictional but charming town of Fool's Gold. I really liked Noelle, the spunky, determined heroine who has more reason than most to relish every second of her life. Gabriel is a typical Mallery hero: sexy and fundamentally decent but complex, with painful past experiences that have left him commitment-phobic (not unlike a number of other now-happily-married Fo...more
Susan Mallery is quickly making her way onto my must read authors list. I absolutely adored this book and think it's a great read even outside of the holiday season. I fell in love with the characters even though I haven't read all of the earlier Fool's Gold books. Noelle is such a sweetheart and her outlook on life can teach us all a lesson. She truly approaches each day with such enthusiasm and optimism because she realizes how short life can be and how you should live each day to the fullest....more
Christmas on 4th Street features Noelle, a newer resident in Fools Gold and owner of the Christmas themed store, and Gabriel, Gideon’s twin brother. (Read Two of a Kind for Gideon’s story with Felicia.)

I loved this story! For those of you that haven’t read a Fools Gold story previously, just so you know, you don’t need to have read all of the previous novels to read this one. If anything, it may make you want to read the others!

Going back to the story, Noelle is an extremely strong, optimistic p...more
I was lucky enough to receive a copy of Christmas on 4th Street through Goodreads, and I am so glad that I did. Christmas on 4th Street is the first book that I have read by Mallery, and I absolutely loved the Fool's Gold world she created. I am dying to go back by checking out the other books in her series. This book is an amazing holiday read that serves as a great introduction to her series and is a great standalone book that tugs at your heartstrings and adds to the holiday season. Mallery d...more
