Jac (For Love and Books)
After twelve books, I am still just as much in love with Fool’s Gold as I have ever been! And it’s the perfect place to spend Christmas! (No really, I wish I could pack up my family and spend Christmas in Fool’s Gold!)

This newest story features Noelle, the owner of The Christmas Attic and Gabriel, Gideon’s twin brother. And I have to say I loved both of them from their very first scenes!

Gabriel is seeing his family for the first time in years, having grown up in a high pressure family – where he

I got a copy of this book from the publisher through Netgalley in exchange of an honest review!

Another first for me! While still unable to get as much computer time as before, I been enjoying a lot of first time authors for me. Thought I started this one in the middle of the series, it wasn't hard to keep up with everything that has been going on. Sure it feels like the characters that appeared in the book are from previous books, but Christmas on 4th Street read like a stand-a

Oh yes, it's Christmas time in Fool's Gold too! And like the song "love is all around us",haha.
This is the second book I read in this series and I just love it! The hopeless romantic in me just jumps around feeling all giddy and excited while reading it.
If I would come up just one word to describe it, it would be LOVEL
There is a fine line between good Christmas-cheesy and bad Christmas-cheesy.

This is the story of Noelle and Gabriel (let the cheese commence). Noelle runs a Christmas store (of course) which she opened in the town of Fool's Gold (really?) after a bout of Leukemia chased off her fiance and her employer. Gabriel is a trauma doctor for the US Army serving on life flights out of war zones with "break" rotations in Germany. He is understandably scarred and has an extreme commitment phobia.

I don't kno
Sweet and cute. Loved the characters like always with Susan Mallery. This lady knows how to write romance that's for sure but I feel like her last books have lost the oumph they used to have...

I love Christmas stories (especially Fool’s Gold ones). So the fact that not only is this story a lovely holiday story, but Noelle (the heroine) OWNS a Christmas shop….perfect.

I couldn’t wait to read Noelle’s story. From the previous books I could tell that she was hiding a secret, and it’s a pretty deep one. She’s such a nice, hopeful, and (very) strong woman. Then there’s Gabriel, who is a reluctant soldier, a good doctor, and someone who has lost his way. I thought Mallery does a great job i

This was a sweet romance. It's Christmas time and Gabriel Boylan has come to Fool's Gold to spend Christmas with his twin. As an Army trauma doctor, Gabriel has faced all sorts of stress and has determined that taking a chance on love is a foolish risk because anyone could die at any time. Noelle Perkins has also faced a lot of trauma in her life but her reaction was different. She believes that love is worth any risk.

Noelle has come to Fool's Gold after a life threatening illness determined to

Two broken souls find each other at Christmas, in Fool's Gold, no less. So you know what this means, right? Yes, you do. Gabriel, on the other hand, is a bit more clueless.

He and Noelle meet cute, and before too long, Gabriel is working for her in her Christmas-themed store. (GET IT? Her name is NOELLE? And she has a CHRISTMAS STORE?) The attraction between them is palpable, and they act on it. (THANK GOODNESS, because too often in romance novels, the characters don't for the longest ti

Cute. Plot is kind of a string of pearls, with each conflict popping up and then getting quickly resolved. I liked Noelle a lot, although having a character named Noelle own a Christmas store in a Christmas romance novel is a little on the nose?

Side note: kind of neither here nor there, but in the ebook I downloaded, the story ends around the 62% mark and then there's another novella and a bunch of other "bonus content." This was kind of a fakeout. When Gabriel has his declaration-of-love moment

With every one of these stories that I read I fall further and further in love with Susan Mallery & Fool’s Gold. Mallery’s intricately crafted storyline along with her fantastically captivating storytelling will keep you hooked for the long run. I read this novel in little more than a single sitting. The breathtaking yet down to earth descriptions paint a fantastic picture of this loveable town while her inviting narrative draws you further in.

And if the story itself wasn’t enough, the char
CHRISTMAS ON 4TH STREET was overall really good for me. I really enjoyed seeing Gideon and Felicia again as well as getting to know the Boylan family.

Gabriel was very different from Gideon in ways, yet he faces demons of his own too. Working as a doctor in the army has made him view life as temporary. He’s not willing to risk love when he could be gone tomorrow.

After a hand injury lands him in Fool’s Gold for the holiday with his family, he takes a job at Noelle’s Christmas store.
I was so excited to read this novella. While it's not close enough to Christmas i really got into the vibe to read this. We've met Noelle in a previous book and i wondered what her story was. Susan Mallery has a great way of approaching serious things in her books and not make it all about that. She weaves it into the story with grace and makes you feel for her characters. Both Noelle and Gabriel who is Gideon's twin brother have had difficult things happen in their lives. Only difference is Noe ...more
It is time for us to visit Fool’s Gold again and catch up with some of the characters previously met. After reading Gideon’s story in Two of a Kind I wanted to be able to read about his brother Gabriel so I was pleased to see that he has been given his own story.

Gabriel is a trauma specialist in the army and is currently on medical leave and decides to visit his brother whom he has not seen for a few years as the family had drifted apart. Whilst in Fool’s Gold he meets Noelle who seems like a br

Set in the wonderful Fool’s Gold this story is sure to get you in the Christmas spirit, and make you want to run out a buy a set of Nativity Gourds! Noelle is the owner of the newest shop in town, The Christmas Attic. She is a kindhearted and sweet woman who has faced some difficult times in her life and has come through with a wonderful outlook on life. She soon meets Gabriel who is the twin of Gideon. While serving as a doctor stationed in Germany he hurt his hand so now he is on leave and is spending the holidays with his brother. They get the news tha ...more

You can never go wrong with a Susan Mallery book especially one from the Fool's Gold series. Christmas on 4th Street does not disappoint. In this book, we get Noelle Perkins' story. In previous books we get introduced to her, but now it's her turn for more attention. We also get to know more about the Boylan family. Gideon, from Two of a Kind has a twin brother, Gabriel who is visiting Fool's Gold for the holiday's along with their parents who they haven't seen in years.

Susan Mallery does Christmas like no one else. She captures the true drama and emotion of a dysfunctional family and pairs it perfectly with a love so amazingly sweet and perfect that no one sees it coming. Gabriel is a top notch military physician, he's used to dropping into the midst of battle and treating and hauling out the injured soldiers. He never expected to be the patient, or to spend the holidays with his family. But when Gabriel is suddenly injured, he is ordered to take a leave of ab ...more

Christmas on 4th Street by Susan Mallery
Thanksgiving in Fool's Gold and the holidays are approaching fast. Love this series and this one is devoted to Noelle Perkins who runs the Christmas Attic. She left behind a huge legal business and moved to Fool's Gold.
She's doing Felicia a favor by going to her house to feed the dog and let him go out. Problem is she meets head first the snowbank and then at the house it's not locked but there's a man there, Gabriel, Gideon's brother.

I really liked this one, it was sweet without being overly sweet. I loved Noelle and how she handled Gabriel. Instinctively she knew what he needed to hear from the start and especially when he messed up, and you knew he would mess up because really it is Fool's Gold and we need the women descending with booze and food.

I thought it was fun to watch Gabriel's reaction to the town. It seems like all these tough guys come to Fool's Gold and are perplexed by the town, but it and the girl, win him ov
I love Christmas in Fool’s Gold…. This charming romance centers on a slightly curmudgeon Doctor and the endearingly optimistic Christmas shop owner Noelle who with the magic of the holidays find romance. Readers are reunited with the quirky citizens of Fool’s Gold and treated to the madness of the town that makes this series work. My favorite quote from this book is “I look at a sunrise and I see promise.” That is what the spirit of this book is all about, hope and promise. Christmas on 4th Stre ...more

I like Susan Mallery, and this is by far not the first of her Fool's Gold series I have read (although one of these days I am going to start from the beginning and read all of them, cause I really feel like I am missing out on some great backstory). Even though I have a tendency to read these books out of order, I never feel like I am missing out on something, Mallery does such a great job of pulling you into Fool'

Christmas on 4th Street is a reprint of a Christmas themed story in the Fool's Gold series by Susan Mallery. Readers looking for some extra special Christmas cheer for the holidays will love the Christmas setting and Noelle's quaint store, The Christmas Attic. In Mallery's typical happy-ever-after style, this book is perfect in front of a warm fire, with a cozy blanket and a cup of hot chocolate. Readers may know that a fairy tale ending is around the corner, but it's all in how you get there. A ...more

I enjoyed this warm and sweet holiday tale very much. A very strong woman melts the heart of a stubborn, care-worn, "anti-holiday" doctor in the quirky, wonderful town of Fool's Gold. Author Susan Mallery's town of Fool's Gold is always a great place to spend the holidays -- whether you are familiar with the residents from past books, or just looking for a heartwarming holiday romance, I highly recommend Christmas on 4th Street!

I can't say that the Fool's Gold books are very familiar to me, but

A sweet story about finding love after getting a second chance in life.

Noelle Perkins had gone through a rough patch in her life. After surviving a life threatening experience, she decided to move and have a great new start in a town . She basically spun around her place with a map and pointed the pin she was holding, which landed on the Merriest little town called Fool’s Gold. She moved and opened up a shop, which ended up doing great. While he

This was my first experience with Susan Mallery's writing, and I can honestly say I was impressed. I love Christmas novellas - not only for the obvious enjoyment of a story set in the Christmas setting, but it also gives me the opportunity to get to know other authors I may not have read before. If I'm lucky, I will find a new author whose other books I will want to explore in the future. In this case, though Susan Mallery's story was more than novella length, it was still a double win. Noelle is happy for her friends and the happiness that they have found, but she would like to find that happiness for herself. Noelle loves her store, A Christmas Attic, but she's not used to winter and snow. She is dedicated, sweet, a great friend, and unexpectedly tough.

Gabriel is visiting his brother, Gideon, while on leave from the army. Gabriel is taking a much-needed break and also letting his hand heal from an accident. He isn't close to his family, so spending the

Never disappointed when I head back to Fool’s Gold with Susan Mallery. Once again she has brought magic back to Fool’s Gold for Christmas.
After Noelle got a second chance at life, she made some big changes in her life, including moving to Fool’s Gold and opening a Christmas store to keep the magic of the season going year round. With the holiday rush upon her she needs help running the store an
